IDEA: Pre-generate thumbnails for images in selected folders?

<< < (2/2)

DonL:
You might have to change file manager - or use an image viewer.
XYPlorer is quick to load thumbs (their quality isn't great though).-tomos (February 21, 2013, 02:52 PM)

Really? I pride myself to have the best thumbs in the business. Maybe you have the wrong settings.

Tick: Configuration | Preview | Image preview: | High quality image resampling
Untick: Configuration | Thumbnails | Super-fast thumbnails

Speed and quality is a trade off, of course.

^You're right Don

I had Super-fast thumbnails selected - when I deselect that the thumbnail quality is super.
As you say though:

Speed and quality is a trade off, of course.

There's even very few image viewers that are *really* quick in loading images.
I used use ExifPro but havent used it properly in a while - it does now have a
64bit version. Okay, just checked it -when the thumbs are cached, it's almost
instantaneous display
