Rogue likes for PC
justice:
I seem to have become a fan of the genre of "rogue like" games. I've heard this originated with Gauntlet, but I am only familiar with IOS games like "Sword of Fargoal", "Dungelot" and "Dungeon Raid". All of these are excellent. I really like the character progression, randomized dungeons etc.
Could anyone point me to good rogue likes for PC?

Roquelikesw originated with Rogue (sort of). That's why they're "like Rogue."
Here are a few that should keep you busy for a while:
Angband
POWDER
Dungeons of Dredmor
Desktop Dungeons
Of the above, I've played them all, except for Angband which I've never played. I've spent most of my time playing POWDER, and the least time playing Dungeons of Dredmor, though I think Dredmor has more going for it that Desktop Dungeons.
Oh, and you can also play Dwarf Fortress in "Adventure Mode" which is very much a Roguelike. (Though I spent about 99%+ of my time with Dwarf Fortress playing Fortress Mode)

Another one that is very popular at the moment is 'FTL: Faster Than Light' . Set in space. Very basic, very lightweight indie game that I have really enjoyed. Not enough space here to do a full review but check out totalbiscuit's review on YouTube if you want a look at it. Costs about $5 for a DRM free edition or a steam key from ftlgame.com. I'm not affiliated at all just a happy gamer.

I know the topic specifies PC, but I just thought I'd add:
I've been having a lot of fun recently playing a Rogue-like called Cardinal Quest on my Android.
