FBI ALERT SCAM - Malware or Virus ?

cmpm:
TFC will clean more then Windows Disk Cleanup and CCleaner.
All 3 will pick up what the other does not.

TFC will stop most process' before it cleans and sometimes prompts for a reboot.
Even if it does not prompt for a reboot I always log off and back on again.
You should see better performance for a while till the temps load up again.
If you want to run it, there is no install, it's portable.

I appreciate your suggestions and opinion, cmpm, but this TFC seems a little scary.  Some of the posts I've read deal with problems it caused the users... not to reassuring, to me anyway.

It seems like it's behavior is similar to the modern-day drug perscriptions out there.  Some users ailments are cured... but others die.   :(

If you are unsure about TFC, do not run it.
I have not had any problems myself, but that is me.

Have you tried CCleaner?
For CCleaner I only use the cleaner, not the registry cleaner.
Also I would uncheck the cleaning of cookies, untill you know how the advanced settings work.

Stoic Joker:
A variation on the same theme is ATF-Cleaner which I've been using for a few years. It says it's only good for 2000/XP but I've used it frequently on Vista & 7 without any problems...so it's still a favorite of mine.

cmpm:
@Stoic Joker

ATF-Cleaner, do you disable these or leave them disabled?-

Notes for Windows Vista users:

On Windows Vista that "Windows Temp" is disabled, to empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator"
Prefetch has been disabled on Windows Vista. As I'm not sure the effects that emptying prefetch on Windows Vista  will have for the time being it I won't enable that function.

Just wondering.

And I do use TFC without any troubles.

I have been using CleanUp! (Gould), but not recommending it.
It's good for custom file and folder locations and temps.
