Word to html

(1/2) > >>

rgdot:
I have googled various terms ("word to html", etc), I want to ask here too.

What's the cleanest or best way to convert word files to html? I am more concerned with retaining tabs, spaces, line breaks than images or shapes.

There is also the issue than some of the word files are in landscape but the html shouldn't be really, so somehow I have push some content down or below (probably manually after conversion?)

kunkel321:
No doubt you've tried all the "Save As..." option in Word.

rgdot:
I have yes. Searching for options that would perhaps be cleaner or better. The doc file has left aligned and center aligned text for example, using Save As easily preserves the left aligns but centered ones not so much, I guess that's to be expected somewhat but still...

Would this be usable? http://word-to-html.com/ (installs locally, I didn't test it though)

Ath:
Or as an alternative:

Use Gmail to Convert Word Docs to HTML
If you have a MS Word doc that you want to convert to HTML, the last thing you’d ever use is the “Save as Web Page…” command in Word. Talk about terrible code! Instead, you can send the attachment to your Gmail account and use the “View as HTML” link. Once the page is displayed in your browser, go to “View Source” and copy the code. Most of it is very clean and quite useable.
