tomos:
on the .de link, it works like google maps:
* you can zoom in and out with just the mouse wheel (doesnt work with control) and
* it will zoom into wherever the mouse pointer is
Makes it easier to find the interesting bits without killing your wrist with all that click and drag :)

That would definitely be a godsend -- as the clicking is killing me (arthritis) -- but is this a FF only thing?? The lower map frame doesn't show up for me in IE.

weird - it's totally different in IE.
In FF, it just shows the whole image with a +/- button to zoom (and as said above works like google maps).
The actual comic link (http://xkcd.com/1110/) shows here in IE8 but click and drag keeps dragging, even when you let the mouse button up - which means it goes over and back, and over and back, and...
Stoic Joker:
Guess I'll be installing FF on something then.
Thanks Tomos
Fred Nerd:
I got lost in the tunnels....... send a search team to find me or I'll never get back to work in time. This is awesome. He must have spent ages on it.
Fred Nerd:
Just saw the zoomable one..... WOW...... Whales in the sky, a bit of a tip to Douglas Adams?
app103:
There is something very Cricket/Wizard of Op about this thing. :-*
