Chocolatey NuGet is a Machine Package Manager, somewhat like apt-get, but built with windows in mind.

Was featured on lifehacker this week.

Mouser: maybe it makes sense for you to upload your applications as packages?

I have to admit that I didn't try Chocolatey and am not even sure I will.

urlwolf:
Just found chocolatey.
Very impressive. Why is it not better known?

TaoPhoenix:

I'm confused.
So can I set up a package that theoretically for a future machine packages say Firefox, Pale Moon, my favorite stuff from DC, and my 100 other apps on my comp, so that at some point if I get a new machine, a 1 line install pulls all that in?

IainB:
Hey, that looks like a seriously nifty tool there.
I don't think I had seen @phitsc's OP about this - I think I would have remembered it, if I had.
Nice find!

When I think of times past when I have been involved in desktop rollouts, where a major problem was to perfectly clone a particular type of build image as a backup contingency, or to put it into operation across a network of different PCs...
I wonder if this thing as good as it seems to say it is?

phitsc:
Now has over 1000 unique packages.
