xpdf, pdftk, etc

hello!

manipulating pdf has always been a hard work for me, mainly because of lack of tools
now, I can do alot of things with these:

xpdf
pdftk

can you help me complete this list with other useful free cmd/gui pdf tools?

also, which are the best xpdf and pdftk gui versions?

I've searched a lot for these.  I don't think you'll find a freeware one with good editing capabilities.  My strongly preferred pdf editor is bluebeam.  very strongly preferred.

foxit pdf editor used to be the 'must have' pdf editor for me.
however, it is no longer available as a standalone and last time I looked was a part of their phantom business suite. inaccessible through the gui or start menu items, I had to run it from the program install folder, which might mean if you didn't know it existed, you'd never run it.
