Usability (i.e. mercy) suggestion?

(1/1)

ander2255:
Gosh! I admire Skrommel's impressive app output, but frankly I find his/her 1 Hour Software page overwhelming.

Rather than presenting a flock of icons and unexplained app names, then requiring people to scroll down the l-o-n-g!! webpage to see what on earth anything actually is, how about adding tooltips to the icons/links that show the descriptions when you point to 'em?

Maybe there are similar icon-'n'-undescribed-app-name pages on this site, too, that could benefit from this merciful extra bit of coding. Suggestively, A.

Hi, I believe the objective of the icons is that you can click them to be taken to the description of the software without scrolling. Does that not work for you?

tomos:
I think the point is that you dont know from the app name what it does. Hence the suggestion of a tooltip.
Although the names certainly give an idea of what each app is about...
