Google.com is suddenly redirecting me to Google.co.uk ?!
tomos:
funny, I used always get redirected to .de, but now I can go to directly to the .com version :-\
fenixproductions:
I guess it might still affect your search but adding /ncr bypasses the country specific domain
www.google.com/ncr

Since it is fed on cookies, it redirects me to country specific domain :(
More annoying on VPN.

I have it bookmarked and it works, strange :-\

@rgdot
As I've said: cookies.
If I allow Google to store them… no problems with this link BUT I want my search results not to be too smart.
4wd:
Using Firefox with the search settings at default I get the following:
1) search term in the search field will auto-redirect to .au
2) search term in the address field will stay at .com
Been this way for at least a couple of years.
Addendum: Forget what I said, it's the OptimizeGoogle addon which kicks it to www.google.com when it forces it to https :-[
Still, interesting side effect.
