AutoHotkey v2 & other changes

(1/1)

lanux128:

this might interest all AHK aficionados here. AutoHotkey has had some big changes recently. Chris Mallett (the author) has officially handed over the reins of AutoHotkey.com in terms of ownership and design. His version of AHK is now termed 'Basic'. And the prominent fork that is, AutoHotkey_L is slated to be the official "latest version" of AutoHotkey.

AHK_L which is helmed by Lexikos is in brisk development with some enhancements such as Unicode and native 64-bit support. This project is now in testing for v2.0 (alpha release).

You may head over to the 'announcements' section at their forums (which btw has had a facelift too) to view all the postings.

That's cool.  Thanks for posting.  I've tried to self-teach a couple of times and always end up getting frustrated and giving up...  Maybe will try again.  Each time I try to lean, I retain a couple more things...  If I live to be 1000 years old, I might even be proficient enough to write a program!   :P

Thanks for the post, lanux128 :)

I've been using the 1.x series of AHK_L for a bit now and I find the Object (similar to JavaScript's) support to be nice.

I constantly get time-outs on autohotkey.com
is it my security programs, or is the site down / overloaded?

It's been okay for me. I just tried again to check and it's fine as of the time of this message.
