Adding SSC 3.0 to Explorer context or "Open With"
« on: February 13, 2012, 02:40 PM »
In past SSC versions, don't recall there was an option to add SSC to Explorer context or add it to "Open With" list, from installation or from SSC preferences.

It is probably possible to manually add it to the Open With list, by copying / pasting a shortcut to that Vista folder (forgot exactly where it's located).

I don't know if newest ver of EITHER portable or install pkg gives an option to do either of these, or if it can only be done manually.  Sometimes I just want to click on a saved image & open w/ SSC (if possible).

Thanks for any suggestions.

This has been suggested last week in this thread in the same forum.

Guess/hope it's on the todo-list :)

That's probably a bit harsher than you might have intended it?

Wraith808, ralfs -

My main question was (intended to be) about any SSC option to add to context menu, not how to add it to the Open With folder, or where that folder was.  Sorry if that wasn't more clear.  Part about adding to Open With was a comment (not question) aimed to help others, not familiar w/ that option / process (thus, the - I forgot where the folder is - statement).  Sorry if it wasn't clear.

It's true that instructions on how to add a prgm to Vista Open With list / folder can be found on many help sites, but I don't speak fluent German.  I assume a lot of users on the forum don't either. :D

Hi cathie,
sorry for answering so keen, but in the morning I hadn't more time to answer and caught the german google-joke because I was in german forum a few minutes ago.
I thought this could be a quick help on finding the "send to"-folder which was much easier to find on XP than on Vista.

Never mind, I have a link to SC in send to folder since years and it works, but I'm using it very rarely.

An *optional* "open in SC" context menu might be more efficient.
