Circle Dock's nice but I think a might need more...

Hi,

Been using Circle Dock for about 10 days... very cool but alas, unless I'm missing something, I'm still searching for what I need. The program I used before allowed me to select groups (Studio, Office, Utilities, Media Players, Projects) then displayed icons for files, folders, programs which were always where I put them so I could go right to them. And, I'd normally group the icons within these groups by function (utilities for: 3D animation, video, images, music, sounds, etc.). The thing is I always knew right were to go and removing or adding new things (which is often) was easy cause existing things stayed where they were.

I envisioned perhaps using rings (or radiating lines) for groups but the problem is it's hard to orgainize the icons and adding new items moves everything around so I gave up on that. So now I open Circle Dock and I'm still hunting for what I need. When you have a dozen things you need regularly and an addional 3 dozen things you need now and then, searching through ever changing rings of icons doesn't help me that much.

Hey, I love the way it looks, the rotation feature and displaying C-Dock via hot keys is awesome but effeciency wise... I need to get to things 'quickly' in one or two clicks: that's the goal. Is there something I'm missing or something I can do to make this better?  It would be ideal if I could place things exactly where I wanted them and they would 'stay' there. Then I could create a custom background that was sectioned off into animation, images, audio, etc. and, even though there's no layering (I have to see 'all' the icons and not just selected catagories) it would still excellerate the work flow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated!

Cheers,
Rusty
