No one has to convince me that animals have a deeper social world and more robust consciousness than is generally accepted, but i was still blown away by this video and i think it is quite remarkable.

basically the video shows a squirrel whose legs were hurt (by shopping cart), who calls for help from his friend.

it is animal positive but involves a squirrel who has been hurt, so while it's not at all graphic, it could conceivably disturb you a little if seeing an animal in pain is too much for you. but the whole thing is quite uplifting and worth it i think

That can make a grown man cry,i won't,but it could. 8)
For a minute there i thought the other squirrel was going to eat him. :D

I saw a clip on Bravo today, they have some sort of internet viral video show...
They had this clip of a two legged dog,but get this, both legs where on the right
side of the body, somehow he adapted, and adapted well, running, etc.

Rover:
Dang... where's my shotgun?  ;)

allen:
Wow, that's incredible.  I'm amazed at how effectively he carried the injured one, didn't slow him down much at all!

It's a fact, humans weren't the first to develop social structure and social interaction.  What really amazes me is the insect kingdom -- some of the most complex communities/social/political structures in nature aren't lower mammals, but insects.  Bees, especially.

Really nice video, put a smile on my face :)
