Hahaha, priceless. Sorry, I mistakenly took the first to reflect a vague but genuine question and had put quite a bit of effort into doing a Sherlock Holmes job looking around to discover some answers. You're right - it did make for an interesting thread. So, not a waste of effort in any event - that is, if something has been learned.

Ah batch files.. not elegant but it does the job for a lot simple things.

As simple as it is, you would be surprised how many well paid techs don't even know how to create simple batch files. I say this because I work in a department full of techs that know next to nothing about batch files (don't even talk about more powerful scripting languages).

Personally, I have switched to AutoIT. Awesome scripting app.
