IDEA: Watch folder for new files in desktop feed

(1/1)

sWeITee:
Hi all..  :)
My suggestion here is for a program that monitors folders and lists new files that have been added (like a rss feed), in a simple easy to follow interface. It would be cool to sit on the desktop (like a windows gadgets, but not so small preferably long to reduce scrolling but not to wide), or in the tray and can be opened from there. It would be useful to watch TV Recordings folder for new episodes added, or a network sharing folder for example.

1. Add folder location
2. Program watches folder location
3. Program lists a feed of all new files added inside that folder.

* Can report new files in sub-directories as well
* Only reports of new files added (eg not renamed or moved to sub-folders, but could be optional)
* Also, it would be nice to watch multiple folders, but separately (by tabs).
* And a pop-up a tray notification when new files are added.
* Execute file by clicking on it.

A layout like this would be preferable, to get a nice overview of the past week and easily check what was added today.

TODAY (date)
Date - Time : Filename
Date - Time : Filename

FRIDAY (date)
Date - Time : Filename

THURSDAY (date)
Date - Time : Filename
Date - Time : Filename

Date - Time : Filename

Just a simple interface and easy to read.

Have you check out Folder RSS by chance?

sWeITee:
Yeh thanks, actually i did have it downloaded, couldn't work it out and forgot about trying it again when I tried other stuff. Still confused by it, but try again. Might work out alright if I can find a nice RSS reader for the desktop.

just PM me if you need help with Folder RSS it's not perfect but should do what you want.
