I pulled my links from http://terraria.wikia.com/, but it looks like Terraria Online has put together their own wiki which is so much more organized and easier to navigate at http://wiki.terrariaonline.com/.

+1. Rarely will I purchase a game without a demo first (Minus portal, death spank and defense grid)

I don't know if a demo is planned, but you can probably find some videos on YouTube that will give you an idea of how it plays.
Note: I haven't watched these (yet) but I liked his Minecraft series so I'm planning on watching these soon.
