The thing I'm not sure about is how long will these new providers be around? I use Live Mesh, Skydrive and Dropbox and I know that they are big enough names that my data will be around.

That's my concern too. I only use SkyDrive and DropBox (and mostly DropBox at that). I also use my own server to host things that I know about in advance, since I can get space on that for a lot less than any of these services.
