Windows Vista: tool for hiding program icons from the task bar wanted

<< < (2/3) > >>

Curt:
does it disappear (by itself) or is Vista hiding it?

I have PS Tray Factory and AnVir Task Manager Pro, and have set Vista not to hide inactive icons from the tray. This way icons behave like I want them to.

I have not tried Process Manager for Windows  on Vista.

brotherS:
No, it wasn't just hidden.

Found this thread looking for something simple to minimize an app to the tray. Great little utility! Simple and no BS. Yay!

Ease your control over foreground processes and windows now with new version of Process Manager for Windows . You can perform following operations on any application by just right clicking on them in taskbar.

This little AutoIt3 freebie works well for me in Vista64.

It's not "automatic" though. You need to hold down the shift key when you click the minimize box.  Then it will minimize most any standard single window app to the system tray.
