The Third & The Seventh - Beautiful CG short film

(1/2) > >>

Edvard:
A FULL-CG animated piece that tries to illustrate architecture art across a photographic point of view where main subjects
are already-built spaces. Sometimes in an abstract way. Sometimes surreal.

Crush:
It extremely realistic and has a calming sound. This is pure art.
Take a few on Alex RomanĀ“s older videos that have the same style.

JavaJones:
Yeah, this guy is brilliant. It's really his skill with lighting, color, and texture that make the thing. He also uses Vray, a rendering engine which IMHO is pretty tops in the industry. Allows for some very nice indirect lighting effects.

The compositing breakdown is also well worth watching to see how he builds up the scene. Notice how a lot of the realism and impact comes from color correction and post effects:

Ehtyar:
I had trouble watching the earlier half as the subject matter didn't particularly interest me, but from about 6:50 onward I was dumbfounded. Truly a remarkable achievement and a thing of beauty.

Also watch the Making Of The Exeter Shot. Amazing.

Deozaan:
At first I was sitting there thinking criticizing thoughts along the lines of "Yeah well, it's not hard to make CGI look photorealistic when everything is blurry!" but by the end of the film I was smiling and delighted.

A great piece of art indeed!
