Do you remember the old flannel boards the teacher would use to illustrate a story in school?  I am continuing working on a project (alas, my NANY 2010 app that was preempted) that would be a computer "flannel board" for my children.  There would be an appropriate background with people figures, chairs, tables, cars, etc. that would be dragged from a "palette" I would create and dropped at will.  Eventually, I would make the actions recordable so they could tell the story while the scene animated itself on the monitor.  If I was to also include recording their voices too, just think of how they would smile!  Who knows, it might just inspire the next Lucas or Spielberg.  ;)

I would appreciate it if you might share your thoughts about what...
  • Tools would you use?
  • How would you go about it?

FYI - I am not asking for pseudocode, but some general guidelines on apps that wouldn't break the bank and perhaps pitfalls to watch out for in the development.

TIA!
