Windows 7 - Blank Icon bug

(1/1)

DrAg0n:
Hi there everybody.

I think CircleDock is really a good idea, i'd like to use it instead of RocketDock/ObjectDock etc etc
but i have a problem :

Everytime i try to add an application to the dock it gets a simple black icon. CircleDock can't automatically get the right icon so i have to change manually every icon to identify the programs while using CircleDock.

I know this was a known (and fixed as far as i see in the ChangeLog) issue in Vista. Now we have this in 7. I tried compatibility mode without any success.

Is there any way out of this ?

Make me aware,
bye + thx

Markham:
What version of Circle Dock are you running? If it's 0.9.2.6 and you downloaded it from this site, then I will investigate this further. However, a new version, 0.9.2.7, will be available from this site either later today or tomorrow.

I test Circle Dock on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 and I must confess I'm not seeing the issue you raise. There was a problem in adding shell links (LNKs) from, for example, the Desktop in that they weren't always being parsed correctly but that is fixed (partially in 0.9.2.6 and fully in 0.9.2.7).

I tried it on 2 different Windows 7 and i had the same bug ...

Could it be related to the fact i am using 64 bit version of Windows 7 ?

However yes, i am using 0.9.2.6 Refresh

DrAg0n:
Problem fixed :

It was an incompatibility problem with IconPackager by Stardock.

Is there any freeware alternative IconPackager clone around ?

Bye and thx

Markham:
Ah okay, I see you've fixed your problem!
