Samsung's 24 x 220MB/s SSD RAID
f0dder:
I now finally watched the video, and I was of course wrong wrt. ioDrive being faster than the 24 SSDs. Should've realized that 24 SSDs in RAID would mean a really fancy RAID controller :). I wonder which controller they used - 2GB/s data transfer rate is pretty impressive. With pci-e 2.0, it would have to be at least a 4x card, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express#Overview :)

Opening many programs simultaneously was probably chosen specifically to make the SSD RAID configuration look impressive. A more realistic benchmark for most people would be copying several large files from one area to another on a single drive. I suspect that would not be quite such a slam dunk for a SSD as opposed to a HD, regardless of configuration.

At AnandTech there's a very long, but very interesting article on SSDs:
The SSD Anthology: Understanding SSDs and New Drives from OCZ
f0dder:
Wow, very long article indeed - I'm at page 22/31 right now. Kudos to OCZ for actually listening up, and sacrificing some bandwidth to fix latency problems... might look less impressive on paper (and thus get flamed by people who think they have hardware knowledge), but the end result is a fast and usable drive.
