what does the progress bar in super mean?

(1/1)

nite_monkey:
What exactly does the progress bar in super mean? (the one that pops up when encoding a file)
It can't show how much of the video it has encoded, because the bar will go all the way to the end and then back to the start about 4 or 5 times.
So what exactly is the purpose of the progress bar?

fenixproductions:
Maybe they misled progress bar with some "waiting" control? ;)

BTW:

Hirudin:
Maybe it splits the video into chunks if it's large (similar to the VOB files in DVDs). Or, if the source you're using is a DVD, maybe each VOB gets one progress bar. A single layer DVD will typically have 5 VOBs.

Does the final progress bar progress more quickly?

nite_monkey:
@fenixproductions lol, I hadn't even noticed that. (where'd my account go?, lol)
@Hirudin, I dunno, it may have something to do with that, but the video I was converting was a single wmv file that I recorded with my webcam.

All the progress bars take about the same time.
