Name some online writing games...
« on: September 07, 2008, 06:32 AM »
So i made this new topic... :-[

But i need a favour...

Link me here some sites where i can play "writing games"

I mean like adventure game where you write to the forum what you do

like : "i found a sword and i wield it next thing i see is a big bear.. i try to kill the bear but it hits me very hard.. luckily some stranger heard my nee of help and came to scene and killed the bear.. i thank the starger and he disappeared suddenly i am confused but i continue my adventure"

Then someone else answer and you know  ;D

edit by jgpaiva: changed the topic to something more specific (and non-caps ;))

I'm sorry for modifying your post, but recently we are having a wave of non-descriptive topic subjects.
To avoid this spreading through the entire forum, I've modified this subject to something more related to the content of the post.

Also, please avoid using caps on the topic subject, not using it will get you more views and thus, more probability of getting what you're looking for ;)

No offense but I think you have roleplaying forums mistaken for writing games.

This is what's commonly known as a writing game.

Here are the ones I know of but I can't guarantee how active the community is because it's been so long since I've been to any of these. Mostly any browser mmo forum has these.

Politics: http://www.nationstates.net/

MMA: http://www.martialcombat.com/

Fantasy: http://phantasyrpg.com/

General: http://www.gaiaonline.com/

There are probably many more focused ones but I don't know of them.

If I understand you correctly, you are looking for Colossal Cave type text adventure games like Infocomm's Zork series?

If so, start here at the Interactive Fiction Authorship Resource website.

http://www.duke.edu/...g3/IFAuthorship.html

Another good resource for game creation (some broken links):

http://www.ambrosine.com/resource.html

The official site for the Text Adventure Development System (TADS):

http://www.tads.org

Hope this was helpful.
