ahhhh, it may have been that FARR had focus and I was clicking away wondering where it had all gone lol.  maybe it was a passing gremlin, or I was just doing it wrong (most likely) anyway it now works with notepad, and I'm too tired to test it again tonight.

i suggest that EUP supports different profiles so that users can quickly switch one type of charsets into another. maybe EUP could detect different types of INI files and display them in a dropdown list for the user to choose.
