Still in beta, but it looks interesting. I'd be a bit wary due to the fact that its created by a startup.
Out of curiosity, has anyone written anything in AIR?

I have intentionally avoided Adobe Air due to its closed nature, much the same as I avoided .NET prior to the rise of Mono. Perhaps this will turn the tables on that :)

Funny. I've been avoiding Mono because I believe it's only a matter of time before Microsoft 'turns the tables' and goes after it for infringing on .NET ;D

I doubt that.  :D

If they can back Project Moonlight then i don't think there is any harm to Mono.

Make no mistake, Moonlight is just another way for Microsoft to get their tentacles inside Linux. THAT is why they're backing it.
