IDEA: Group windows for easy minimizing/maximizing
(1/1)
NinJA999:
Hey,
So here's my idea. Basically, I like to chat with a lot of people. I hate using the chat window with tabs, so I have each conversation in its own little window. Behind these I keep my browser. But, whenever I bring my browser into focus, then want to go back to chatting, I would like to bring back all the little windows at once, rather than having to bring each one up one at a time. It would be really cool if there was a tool that let me select windows that I wanted to be grouped together and that would maximize/minimize at the same time.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nick

An old thread, I know, but... Window Tabifier
Host several open Windows in one parent window so that you can easily access and navigate between them, as well as clean up space in the taskbar... Windows will be hosted in a tabcontrol. There will be one more tabpage called Menu which has two buttons: one for adding open Windows to the tabcontrol and another for choosing files that will be automatically opened in new tabs. You can also drag & drop files or folders from Windows Explorer on this tabpage for having them opened in new tabs automatically. You can navigate between tabs by clicking Ctrl1, Ctrl2 and so on or you can just simply hover mouse over the tab and it will be selected automatically....-Author

I get broken links for Window Tabifier. any other place I can download it from?
Nevermind, I found this one (not sure if it's the same):
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/WindowTabifier.aspx
It doesn't work with acrobat though.

My apologies, I should have added the caveat that I've not tried it.
I saw Window Tabifier while browsing around and it reminded me of
this thread, hence my earlier post.
The price is right, though :)
