This is one more way of spying on what people are watching and wanting to download from youtube. The downloader takes you to place called TubeGotchi and asking for a user name. I hope that when users suggest softwares, they make sure that the person who is looking for an application does not get in a lookinglass sites rings or does not get spyware infections. This has been one of the crappiest applications I have seen for a while.

1-Click YouTube Batch Downloader from eurekr.com may be a little bad but certainly not all bad. It is probably not very well written, and it really is disappointing with this new TubeGotChi forum, but that can sometimes be expected from this kind of applications, can't it. When they started some years ago, there weren't any commercials or any forum, but people didn't donate, so the company didn't get an income from 1-Click, which may be why they added the forum and the ads. 1-Click is however not dangerous or all crappy. First of all its behaviour on your computer is accepted by the anti-spyware parts of both NOD32 and Outpost Pro. Secondly it is one of the easiest applications for downloading an user's entire channel of videos. I have downloaded a couple of thousand videos with 1-Click YouTube Batch Downloader from eurekr.com, and I have not met any problems or received any spam.

One thing they should change, though, is, to make 1-Click download from lot more ports at a time. For now, one video at a time, it is simply too slow, because YouTube uploading never uses my connection's download capacity. On the other hand, it doesn't use any CPU, so the user can just leave it to download while he is working.

For IE, you can use Trixie and a Greasemonkey script (you may have to try a few till you find one that works well with Trixie)

I have not tried Trixie, as I don't normally use IE, but I have read quite a few reviews that have called it the best available plugin for adding Greasemonkey functionality to IE.

Ghacks article about it from last year: http://www.ghacks.net/2008/11/16/install-greasemonkey-scripts-in-internet-explorer/

i recently discovered another youtube downloader - YouChoob.

YouChoob is an application that allows you to download videos directly from the YouTube.com website and save them to a location on your system. YC is the easiest way to download videos as all it requires is the URL address to the page that contains the video.

YouChoob supports downloading from all language versions of YouTube and will automatically download the highest quality version of all videos, if available.-website
