Looks like Qix was ported to all kinds of places. DOS, NES, Gameboy, Amiga, etc.

Yup, I should have checked all titles, since I know first hand of the relationship of Qix + "eye candy". Actually, there are more games of that type than normal ones like Qix, which is pretty normal, considering the game mechanics. It's not a bad thing really, Kaneko made quite some good games of that particular variant, and at least helped the genre to survive.

I wonder if some indie developer would be up to the task of resurrecting the genre for the new generation of gamers, much like Nervous Brickdown did with Breakout-like games recently. Hmmm, a Qix game in the DS...
