the folder navigation issue is a bit odd -- i do have an idea how to fix though, so hopefully i will fix for next version.
as for icons.. that's trickier.. anyone else notice anything odd?
does the icon problem happen in both large display mode and small display mode?
there is a setting on the Tweaks tab that might be worth a try too.

Nod5, can you try redownloading the new beta and see if it fixes your explorer problem?

One issue - with a high resolution and scaling turned on, new FARR looks really bad :(

Hmm.. can you elaborate? Do you mean that with scaling turned on the new beta looks different than previous releases? Or are you just making a general comment about the effect of scaling on FARR which is true for old versions of FARR too.
Can you show me a screenshot?
