Can the users of this forum suggest a minimal programming Windows automation solution, which will allow one to perform multiple file opening, clicking, and saving functions.

E.g.: Periodically open CCleaner -> Click Tools - Click "Save to a text file" -> go to a particular folder (create, if non - existent) -> Save as CCleaner Installed App on <computer name> - <current date & time ->.txt.

Thank you for your suggestions.

I find myself using CHS for a number of things. For example, transferring clips of texts from PDFs, E-Mails and Websites together with information about the date accessed, URL (if applicable), Window Titles, etc.

Given that the CHS database now serves as a central repository for many of the clips I use for research etc., I was wondering if it would be possible to annotate/highlight the contents of individual clips and to tag them. This would make the constant copying and pasting the clips to individual programs less necessary and would make CHS the go to App for managing  text and images from multiple sources in the form of a qualitative data database. It might also help against the annotations and codes being tied up in individual files and provide a central means to store and access snippets, programming codes, qualitative research codes, and annotations.

I will be interested in what Mouser and the others think about this and if anyone has similar solutions they are using.

General Software Discussion / WikiWord Linking in MS Word
« on: May 03, 2020, 12:08 AM »
While on the lookout for a better way to manage my texts and research, I have (again) started experimenting with TiddlyWiki and WikidPad . I was wondering whether a similar feature (Wiki-Linked Rich Text) is available or could be made available using an addon in MS-Word and came across this old post in DC Forums:

https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=9502.0

Does anyone have experience with something similar?

Since a few days, whenever I try to copy more than a few cells in excel, I keep on receiving the error "the picture is too large and will be truncated". After this, excel hangs. It mostly recovers but every now then I am left with no option but to force close it. The problem disappears, once I exit CHS.

Is there an option within CHS that I need to change in order not to get this error?

Thanks.  8)

Clipboard Help+Spell / CHS not capturing URLs in Chrome browser
« on: March 17, 2020, 11:25 AM »
Hi,

I just noticed that %ActiveWindowBrowserUrl% is not capturing the URL in Chrome browser. I guess, this is similar to what has been mentioned in the following post: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=42687.0.

Does anyone know of a workaround to enable Chrome URL capture in Chrome?

Thanks a ton to everyone here.

I would like to request a feature, which will make the lives of researchers a lot less dreary :-)

While collecting background material from PDFs, web pages etc., I as a researchers need to keep on going back to the pdf file name, url, web page title etc. so as to include them in the word file, where I keep such reference snippets.

I am praying for a feature which can (perhaps through hotkey combinations) append information like Date & Time; Window Title of the Source, Source Type, URL etc. to the clip. Such a feature will be invaluable for writers.

Thanks a ton.
