Coding Snacks / Mod: 3rvx
« on: April 15, 2009, 03:48 AM »
I've been using 3rvx for some time now, and it's awesome. The layout of 3rvx (the simple mac-like one) is very, very nice. I would like to know what keys are pressed. I've created pictures of which need to be displayed after a keypress. This could be runned next to 3rvx. But maybe we can start from scratch?

I've created the Play and Pause thing that bumps up already:
-

Also custom hotkeys should be aply-able for different volume commands, like control - volume down for wave volume.

Anybody with me?

Edit: I mean keys like:
Play/Pause (did not realize those are 1 key), Next, Previous, Stop, Volume Up, Volume Mute, Volume down.

The fancy UI is needed, I'm keen on eyecandy :)

I want to know what code a certain media key on my keyboard sents to my pc. I just want something what says which key is pressed. That's all. Scancode is fine aswel.

I like to get the max out of my pc. I'm very keen on usefull tiny tools which make your experience a little bit better. I thought: Let's start a topic and share on! I like stylish software with a nice good UI.

3RVX: Stylish Volume OSD

You can set your volume changing keys and select wether it affects wave or normal volume. Also you can select some skins. I prefer the one which looks like some mac thingy. It also shows volume level in the notification area (tray for some)
Download - Info

QT Adres bar

Vista style navigation in XP's explorer. Very nice and handy.

Qliner Hotkeys

A very nice UI, easy drag and drop shortcuts and build in tools like volume up and down, screenshot taker with selection.

Songbird

It's Mozilla's music player, music library thingy. It supports addons by default, has a growing community behind it. You can sync your iPod or any MTP device with this fancy piece of software. Where iTunes does not have a watch folder functionality, Songbird does. Songbird is being worked on all the time, and I think this will be a good one.

What do you have?

Nevermind my weird language, can't help it, I'm dutch. But wouldn't it be awesome when you could select additional views which can be created and installed as addons? Like you can add some coverflow view, or a special movie view, special picture view? There should be a easy way for creating addons, but it should be powerful enough to create coverflow like things.

Is this possible? Almost every keyboard is equipped with a pair of fancy media keys: volume up, volume down and sometimes even mute. Sometimes I want to adjust the volume of the wave control. I thought: Maybe some nice little piece of software can do this. When I hold my control key and then adjust the volume, the wave gets affected instead of the normal volume control. And maybe some volume can be displayed on screen.

Post New Requests Here / Dim inactive monitor after x seconds
« on: March 24, 2009, 11:06 AM »
I've got a 2screen desktop setup here: One primary display and a secondary. Sometimes when I watch a movie on primary I want to not turn off my secondary monitor but I want to dim it. Sometimes something important happens on the secondary screen and then the primary can be dimmed. Could there be some inactivity delay, based on mouse movements on a dispay and the possibility to select which monitors it affects? Dim screen partially does this, but I'm no coding experd.

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: TV Show/Movie Library - Discussion
« on: March 10, 2009, 10:04 AM »
Hi There,

Please leave a message about what you think about this idea.

I've been looking for a perfect app for a year now, and I've still not been able to find anything that totally fits me. What am I looking for? Not a full screen media center like XBMC, nor MediaPortal. This is just a simple app which minimizes to tray. First priority is TV Shows management, but Movies would be nice though.

A user enters a path to a folder where (mulitple) tv shows are around. The multimedia files will be scanned and based on filenames more information will be downoaded with the thetvdb api. (e.g. thumbnail, official title, release date, plot etc) The downloaded information will be stored in a database file (xml maybe? per tv show 1?). You could see the hierarchy as a tree:
TV Show - Season - Episode

The app should not run in full screen by default (maybe an option for later on). The most important part is the UI. I want it to be simple but sleek and smooth.

The most important part is: When you clicked a file to start playing it, it does open in a custom external media player. This is because this app is just a library, not a media center.

Movies could be scraped and added the same way as tv shows, but with some different scraper like imdb.

This is just a way too difficult idea, but it would be sweet if it would work...

Heya! I'm wondering: The thumbnails of movie files always have the first frame. I would like to get a random frame and be able to set them. Is that possible?

Could you make this FARR appear like the google deskbar?

Post New Requests Here / Transparent taskbar
« on: March 07, 2009, 11:56 AM »
I'm sure this request has been around some times, but I want to add something different. The taskbar has a preconfigured transparency (e.g. 40%). But when you hover over it it fades in a preconfigured time (e.g. 100 ms) to a preconfigured other transparency value (e.g. 80%).

Does this kind of thing exist already?

This is a REQ and no IDEA because I can't imagine anyone else wanting this piece of software:

I've like many tv shows on my harddisk, and I can't really deside which one to watch. You have to specify:
- Top folder (where it will search including subfolders)
- Extensions (Which extensions to include in the sears)
- Number of times (like how many random files do you want)

The result is: A list of files where you can click on and when you click on it it selects the file in explorer. (Picasa does have that feature, it selects a picture in explorer, like that)

App name: Pick Me!

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Google Translator Tray App
« on: March 03, 2009, 05:43 PM »
Maybe this is an idea? I saw this google translate boomerang and I wondered why there is no simple minimize to tray google translate app? WHere you can select predefined language sets (like English - French, German - Spanish, etc). And click, wait couple of secs and you have your translation? Is it possible? Maybe with some copy result to clipboard thingy?

I've been googling, but only found some outdated widget which I can't use.

Coding Snacks / Quick Simple MP3 Player
« on: February 28, 2009, 10:43 AM »
Is there anything like that around? Sometimes I just want to open the file, not add it to my library or open winamp for it. Functions: Play pause button and a seeker... Anyone know this (possibly single exe :P ) kind of software?

Post New Requests Here / [REQ]Zoom in and out in different programs.
« on: February 28, 2009, 05:15 AM »
Hi There,

I've these 2 configurable keys on my new Logitech Media keyboard.  I want them for using it for zoom in and out buttons, like on other logitech keyboards? Maybe could there be an exe which presses the ctrl key and scrolls down 1 click.  And one exe for scrolling up one click while holding ctrl key. It shouldn't be that hard, right?

Hi there,

ive been using 2 screens for quite a long time. I have ultramon, which allows me to have a taskbar for the secondary monitor. Sometimes, i watch a movie fullscreen at the primary monitor. I still have a taskbar at the other one, but no clock. Couldn't there be a small 'always hover on top in the bottomright cornor' clock, with the same format of the style im using:  royale. It shouldnt be that hard is it?

I've been googling, but there is no such thing for windows xp. It should be like a replacement or sideapp for the normal volume control. There is a thing called indievolume, but 1. the layout sucks and 2. its not freeware. Im not paying for changing the volume, eh?

Post New Requests Here / Simple single exe to show/hide to taskbar
« on: November 23, 2008, 08:27 AM »
Hi there,

I would like to know wether this kinda app is around. It should hide when the single exe is executed, and restore the taskbar when executed again. I would not like to be it a tray thingy. Any help?

General Software Discussion / Remapping F-keys (f1-f12) shortcuts
« on: October 12, 2008, 03:52 AM »
Hi there,

I'm looking for a very simple program which can do the following:

- Set shortcuts on keys f1 to f12, overiding what it does in windows.
- Shortcuts to Programs and Folders
- Shortcut to volume up down and mute.
- Nice Layout
- Windows XP Systray Icon. Like the keyboard icon, from where you can run it.

How much will it cost btw to let someone make this app?

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: All to systray
« on: July 21, 2007, 01:40 PM »
This is my idea,
just a tiny program that does this:

  • Make it possible for every window to minimize to the systray, so it wont be in the taskbar
  • When you right-click the systray icon of it, it shows a list of the closed programs, and when you click one, or double click the icon it comes back
  • It has to see the icon of the program, so it can be showed in the systray

How to minimize?

Few ideas:
When rightclicking in taskbar, add a minimize to systray (so you hook this shell).
Right clicking the minimize button.

Program: Traydevil, but this one is just with to many functions. I want just a simple app.

Start with windows function?

Do i have to donate to get this app done?
