It is, but by that point it would be your ISP or someone on your own computer spoofing it.

178
I don't think you can spoof a gmail address from gmail (it comes out as [email protected] on behalf of [email protected]) so you should be able to look at the headers for this (if it is real).

If it comes from another server then it is likely fake.

I think that the control panel disabling and the group policy disabling is for windows 2000 +

Aren't you just missing the style sheet? See if you see it directly

https://www.donation.../Dc2/style.css?fin11

or if there is something blocking it from loading

[Edit]
Actually scrap that because the theme is loaded dymanically through javascript
Code: Javascript [Select]
 1.

Because without the overlays you are actually taking a picture of a pink square that only graphics card knows how to deal with.

A pain, but something that we've had to deal with since 1998ish.

You might be better finding a video program that takes screenshots (does VLC? I know power dvd used to)

You are right that they are for Windows updates. They should be deleted but often they are not. They go on the drive that has the most free space at the start of the update.

You should be able to take ownership with right click, properties, security, advanced; but that does presume you are on xp pro.

Found this amazing firefox plugin today and I just have to share it. It makes Digg and Forums so much easier to read.

I'll show rather than explain

You missed the picture that explains the design (although it is in your link)

_44536597_shield_pa_226300.jpg

I think the design is excellent, but I still can't believe that 1p's metal is worth less than 1p, even if it is 2 cents.

Correction: The software doesn't currently run with non-administrators making it poor for use in business. However the support people seem to have been quick to start a conversation on the problem.

It tries to write directly to c:\ and c:\program files on initialisation.

187
To throw 2 cents into this. This software is much better and easier than the paid for skype recorders we have. Mp3 support without conversion, records directly into my documents (so non-administrators can use it) no configuration and setup is just a double click. Also it doesn't force itself on at startup if you don't want it to.

For a beta this couldn't be better.

188
Something that I definitely think is missing is a line that says 'If you deleted all cloned files you would save ### space'. The trial scan I did was really just for statistical purposes (so I can tell staff off) but I can see the number of clones

Folder size: 96GB
Files: 6184
Clones: 4191

but I can't see how much space 6184-4191 is.

189
It seems good but the byte by byte scan is painfully slow on our wav files on the media server. I was hoping for a bit more speed when you said it takes an educated guess when showing you the results and does the rest in the background.

I'm sure if you are scanning for word documents and 3MB mp3 files it is a lot better.

190
This does look pretty useful to be honest. At work we have a media server that I'm sure people pass around video files on, but instead of keeping a copy in a shared space they will have a 2GB copy of top gear (or something equally stupid) in each of their filestores.

General Software Discussion / [Solved] Batch file problem
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:31 AM »
I have the following batch file but I have a problem with it. The IF statements check that a tv program has been recorded. If it has then it runs it through VideoReDo, if it hasn't it will send an email so I can check the recording software.

My problem is that when it runs the email sending .bat file the current batch file stops. It will stop at the first instance and not run any of the other code, even the pause at the end. It just stops (and closes before I can read anything on the screen).

Is there some command that I need to place before the bat file to stop this from happening and ensure that computer returns to the original file?

Developer's Corner / Re: Help with databases in Visual Studio C#
« on: April 02, 2008, 02:20 PM »
If I understand, then, I think you've got your data model wrong. It sound to me like the itemreference should be a child table with a foreign key pointing back to this table. Then your UI would change from being a big entry field to possibly a listbox.
I have absolutely no idea what you just said.

Hi. After I didn't get any reply here I popped along to the MSDN forum where I got some help

http://forums.micros...3086413&SiteID=1

At the moment I'm not using MSSQL. I could use it but I'm bouncing between computer and am finding access easier. Hopefully the dataset will allow me to move between them more easily.

Was the array a mis-typing, or do you need to rethink the model a bit?
It's a booking system. Student ID, Date to return and bookS. So there is a for loop to write each into the database.

Living Room / Re: Dropclock - 137MB screensaver
« on: April 01, 2008, 08:47 AM »
I downloaded it but don't really like it too much. I like my screen saver subtle and I don't like a clock that has a '6' that turns around in the water making it 14:29 instead of 14:26.

Clever idea, but a no from me.
