Has the 40% discount ended? It's still 27th Sept in my location.
As soon as I add the coupon, price drops back to full purchase price.
The 30% from the main page appears to be working though.

*EDIT*
Well, it appears so
Adding the coupon DT2009-DC2W results in..
! The coupon code you entered is invalid. If you have questions about this, please contact the publisher.

Living Room / Re: CD archive and copying
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:01 PM »
f0dder, as far as I recall, it's a binary image of the CD and I think compression of image is optional.
When you mount the CD, it's just as if  a CD is inserted in your CD player and any configured autoplay apps kick in.
With regard to whether a standard codec is used, somehow I doubt it.

For a few $$, this may do the trick.

Fine for data CDs, but do they have decent audio-ripping code?

Poor wording on their web page when you use the coupon for an order.
They're just saying that if you buy in bulk, you can get volume discounts over the regular price.
Click this  DC Grigsoft Discount to get the 50% off for Synchronize It! or Compare It or both.

133
Grigsoft confirmed there is already a 50% coupon active for both products
I just verified the coupon.

Synchronize It!
Volume Discounts Available   19.00 USD
DonationCoder.com:              -9.50 USD
Total:     9.50 USD

See DC Grigsoft Discounts

134
It can handle that (never used it though)

urlwolf, you nailed some of the nice features  ;)
It just feels slick to use and yes, it's "fast as hell".
Both sessions and Projects can be scheduled (via command line)

I've not had a reason yet to use the "package" feature of Compare It

I'd actual bought a SyncBack license, but ran into into install problems with it as XP Pro was already partially damaged.

Edit:  The SyncBack folks did refund my money.

136
urlwolf, before you decide, give Synchronize It! 3 a whirl as well.
I use BC for file/folder related code changes, but I use Synchronize It for internal/external drive synchronization.

Josh, you have the right to feel that way.
Others like me disagree - many of us.

Like I said, this is no different than the issue regarding DRM - especially with regard to music and books.
Read Cory's book.

139
For me it's the principle.
I have to trust that, if a machine gets hosed, MS will allow me to activate the software.
XP Pro falls in the same boat regarding my decision - the last OS I will buy from them.

This activation stuff is in the same category as DRM.
I've just started reading Cory Doctorow's "Content"

Bialetti Moka Express 6 Cup Espresso Maker
Dirt cheap, makes fantastic coffee - check the reviews at Amazon.

J&R
Amazon

Pair it with some choice Trader Joe coffee   :D

Having used releases of Streets And Trips back to 2003,  I had decided to skip 2007 and wait for 2008.
That was an unfortunate decision, as 2008 now includes activation crud.
Perhaps 2007 did as well, I don't know.

Seriously Microsoft, no more.
You will not see another $ for software from me - ever.

chip.de's annual advent calendar has been up for a few days now.
http://www.chip.de/a...lender_12827094.html

Mostly German language software.
However, there are a few English language items available, such as Steganos Safe V7, Auslogics Visual Styler, A2 Anti Malware. Perhaps still more to come in the next week.

A little more expensive than TimeSnapper, but probaby more in line with what Mouser is looking for.
Really great tracking and billing features etc..
See Timeless Time & Expense
This is not as cheap as Timekeeper, however it's pretty good software for $49.
As there is interest in this category, perhaps they can be contacted regarding a discount for DC members.

Yes, I used it when I was a contractor.
It handled various project's billing and reporting aspects like a dream.

How about Pelles C ?
http://www.smorgasbordet.com/pellesc/
No C++ though.

Pelles C for Windows is a complete development kit for Windows and Pocket PC. It contains among other things an optimizing C compiler, a linker, a resource compiler, a message compiler, a make utility and install builders for both Windows and Pocket PC
