Sorry, could not resist.
If you'd used it, you'd know why.

#22 has UltraEdit 15.20 full version
I registered and received a license key.
The key might be only for the German version and possibly also only for the msi installer supplied via the email

Maximum PC gave the R.A.T a 98% rating

*Edit*: Maximum PC reviewed the R.A.T 7, so I updated the Cyborg link.

Considering how many mice I've had fail (both Logitech and Microsoft), one of these is definitely on a future short list.

Not to mention Rockbox runs on quite few Sansa models.
I just Rockbox'd an old Sansa E250.
Why Rockbox

The Sansa Clip+ and Fuze are great players

For Emacs  fans  ... or not   :-\

I really like HippoEDIT - it helped me sort out some complicated multi-platform ifdef stuff. I was quite impressed.
However, I don't use it as my main editor (EditPad Pro) as I had continuous context switching delays when editing files on SMB shares.
Perhaps there are configuration settings that could mitigate that problem, but I didn't pursue it.

I was also an UltraEdit fan at one point, but post V12, it really just became too lethargic.
For quick & dirty editing, it's Notepad++ mainly - sometimes Notepad2 or SciTE.

I had reason to use this tool recently.
The author of the tool now makes it available from here
WSUS Offline Update website

Looks like Office 2000 support has been dropped though.

widgewunner, thanks for the heads up.

Some of these issues have annoyed me as well, so it's good to see they will be fixed.
This one in particular
When opening/saving projects and files, there was only one "last used" folder that would come up as default...
and this issue always bugs the heck out of me. Why it was never there in the first place (or added to V6), I have no idea.
There was no way to quickly copy/paste a file's path/filename. Now you can right-click the files tab and get it into the clipboard

CodeTRUCKER, I've used these Fridge Magnets
They're more expensive than those J-Mac linked to, but the magnets are stronger.

How about fastfontpreview
I can't vouch for it, but it does claim
VERY fast preview both uninstalled or installed fonts by folder from Hard drive,CD's or USB drive
and
Lanmisoft programs does not contain spyware, adware or viruses!

Living Room / Re: What's Your Internet Speed/Reliability SATISFACTION?

Must admit, I really can't complain these days (up could be somewhat better)
http://www.speedtest...result/943242820.png
32.7 Mb/s down : 3.62 Mb/s up

Reliability in my area is excellent as well - has been for a long time.
This is Cox Communications "Preferred"
Speeds up to 20 Mbps with PowerBoost®, great for music and photos.

Which is why I will always prefer a boot CD as opposed to other backup/restoration mechanisms

All disk imaging programs do some kind of tricky things to keep the disk & file system in a consistent state while backing up - so you can imagine that there is some contention among them.
-brahman

For me the K.O. criteria of O&O DiskImage 4 and 5 was that it cannot restore the system partition without a separate boot CD.

Interesting that there are few recommendations for O&O DiskImage
I've had great success with it.
O&O DiskImage 5 Pro

For $29-95, you can cross-upgrade to O&O DiskImage 5 Professional Edition from the following products: Acronis True Image Home or Workstation, Norton Ghost, PowerQuest, DriveImage or DeployCenter, Paragon Drive Backup Professional Edition or Drive Copy Professional Edition, Avanquest Perfect Image (Workstation)

The free version may even serve someone's requirements
O&O DiskImage Express

Have used stripmail for years - although not often lately.
Has individual paste, strip, paragraph, copy back to clipboard buttons as well as a "do it all" button

mediachance have a range of video editing  products.
I've never used any of them, nor do I know anyone who has.
At $89, EditStudio PRO may be in the "low cost" category.
The products don't appear to be updated that frequently though, but that does necessarily mean they are not capable editors.
If there are any users of their video editing products, please chime in.

PDF-Xchange viewer drives me nuts regarding the time it takes to render some PDFs.
I can wait for 5-10 seconds before some pages are drawn.

The Nuance PDF Reader does not exhibit that behavior at all, in fact it's really quite fast.
The slow startup is annoying though, but it still may become my default reader.

Not sure if appropriate to re-open this thread, but has anyone tried this yet?
Nuance PDF Reader
Introducing a free PDF reader that's small in size and big on features.

Get ready to rethink your choice of free PDF reader. Nuance PDF Reader enables you to do much more than just view PDF files. You can convert PDF files to Word®, Excel®, and RTF via a hosted web service. Use annotation tools to highlight, cross-out, and underline text for more effective collaboration. Even fill out and save PDF forms. Nuance PDF Reader takes up less disk space, is more secure than Adobe® Reader®, and works with virtually any PDF file. Best of all, it’s absolutely free, proving that you really can get a whole lot of something for nothing.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Web-Browser Review: Opera 10.00

Well, I wish Opera management would devote a smidgen of resources to beefing up the Wand. It could be so much better. I track passwords in Keypass then feed them to Opera for Wand storage as needed.

Fair enough. Like I said, more content is good.
Opera ticks me off (occasionally), but really just so much less than the alternatives.
For me, there actually is no practical alternative  ;)

Ok, off my high horse

I often wonder how many FF fans have not even tried Opera.

Stephen66515, it's your review. You get to write what you feel.
Don't moderate your review based on what you think someone else would like to hear.
*edit* Sure, more content would be welcome, but not your position.

For what it's worth, every single time I try to start using Firefox for regular use (a new release perhaps), I end up remembering that I seriously dislike it. I do use it occasionally for one plug-in (DownThemAll) and, even then, I only use one particular feature of that.  But for that, I would not even bother install it.

Opera rules (in my world anyway) since version 2.1!!
