Guys, be careful! AFAIK Gom and KM Player also install come codecs that could easily mess your system. That's why I didn't even bother to try them although I've heard they are good.

One more vote for GetDataBack.

About Squeez addition: the latest version has an English help file.

Try TaskSwitchXP. It's excellent.

« on: July 18, 2006, 02:30 PM »
Still being in beta stage it doesn't support the extensions I need.

It's an interesting browser, probably better suited for girls.

32
Another very good choice would be Cobian Backup.

It's freeware.

33
TU doesn't really remove every key from a software uninstall. There are many hidden keys plus others that remain in the registry.  ;D

What would developers say if TU removes all the hidden keys created by their shareware programs?  ;)

# Off topic

You could also try the switchless installer (works in normal way, too) of Adobe Reader made by RyanVM: it has all updates integrated and the size is "only" 21.1 MB.

there are programs designed specifically for moving installed software from one place to another.. can't remember names off hand but they do exist.  maybe someone else can think of some, otherwise i will try to remember.
Acronis Migrate Easy. :)

I've only seen the first part and I like it a lot, that could be one of the best cops movies in the last years.

Seeing this topic... I think I'll search for my DVD called Infernal Affairs Trilogy Chronological Edition. :D

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: Fewer system tray icons?
« on: February 13, 2006, 03:25 PM »
I found another program which looks interesting. I think it wasn't mentioned here.

It's called Captain Tray Pro.

I didn't test it yet.

The difference is small when you have NTFS partitions and you don't use your PC as a server.  ;)

Configuring filters is Zoom is not an easy task, especially if you have many of them.

I suggest to register on Inmatrix forums, tell them your problem and I'm sure you'll get an answer in a short time. There are many nice people there and the creator of Zoom Player often visits the forums.

The problem with volume is probably due to poorly configured filters. Check the filters section, if they are properly registered etc.

Yes, there is a player lighter on resources tham MPC or Zoom Player: Light Alloy. :)

My vote goes for Zoom Player.  :-*

It's very configurable, in fact too configurable for novice users.  :D

I use for all my files, including DVD's, too.

43
Yes, it supports after burning data verification. And UDF for DVD's, too.

44
Maybe you can modify a little bit the main icon of the program. Just to look better. :D

45
I can recommend a great burning app I'm using for almost 2 years now without any problem: Prassi  Ones. It has only a couple of files, it won't mess up your system at all and it has a great burning engine. It's not full featured but all it's functions are well implemented. Give it a try, almost all Nero users who switched to Prassi are delighted with it.

Stability and speed aren't a problem on top brands.  :)

Either you buy an Asus nF4 Ultra or SLI, you get the best.

I have some comments:

1. If you won't upgrade to second graphic card (SLI configuration), you don't need a SLI motherboard. You could get a nF4 Ultra motherboard and save some money for other components. Also check DFI (the best overclocking motherboard) or MSI brands.
2. Are you a gamer? If you aren't, that Creative doesn't worth at all the money. I would choose an audio card based on VIA Envy 24 HT (M-Audio Revolution is a stunning card) - really better for music and movies than Creative. If you are a gamer... I still would think twice to buy that expensive card. Why? You won't get the chance to really use the superior power of X-Fi. Think about this: there are few games today to support all the features of Audigy (EAX 2) on the market... And considering that X-Fi already has EAX 5... The create a game supporting all the features of X-Fi, a producer needs million of dollars for that because implementing EAX 5 in a game is a slow and painful job. Only big companies can afford the money. But this doesn't guarantee that many games supporting EAX 5 will appear in the following future. Don't listen to all "great" reviews of X-Fi cards...  ;)

I hope I made myself clear.

Hello!

Squeez and SpeedCommander are separate programs. But you can find many features of Squeez implemented in SpeedCommander . They are really very good programs.
