Totally off-topic, sorry, but some synonyms are kinda weird, like :

good > Christian, honest-to-good
erogenous > heterosexual



Of course i know it's nobody here's fault, and i'm not trying to start some flame here, i just found them a little disturbing

This said, it didn't know about this site and i think my non-native-english-speaker self will find it very useful. Or commodious. Or beneficial. Or convenient. Or...

jpgaiva> i made a script like that for myself, the code itself isn't interesting at all but instead of ftp.exe, i use http://www.ncftp.com/ (more precisely ncftpput.exe). It's very nice because this way you get a progression bar. You should try it if you didn't have already

SirSmiley> good idea ! So good i added drag n drop support to FileDraft So now you can drop a folder on a filedraft shortcut (or filedraft.exe) and it will show 10 most recent files. See first post for download.

Now i'm thinking that context-menu support could be nice. Something like :
right click on a folder > click "FildeDraft" in the context menu > shows 10 most recent files

I could even make a config file to specify default number of files to show.

Subdude update !

What's new :

• Now Subdude takes season number in consideration
• "SEE" pattern is now handled (meaning that Subdude will detect season and episode number in - for example - Prison.Break.201.srt
• Update checking has been added via DC Updater. Thanks Mouser and Justice.

Hmmm, i just tried to add DCu support to my program Subdude, but i can't get it to work.

First, isn't it possible to add a "Copy" method which simply overwrites an .exe file ?

Then, i tried the unzip method and tried to check for updates. From subDude itself, it told me that the program needed update only once. The other times, nothing. When i run dcupdater, it tells me that subdude need udpates, the download works then it does nothing. If i click "UPDATE NOW" again, it downloads the file again, and so on. The zip never gets unzipped.

Lashiec> well, i'm not a big gamer at all, so i don't need a great graphic card right now. If i ever want to go for something better, i guess i'll get another SLI card (that explains why i went for a nVidia card). NO i'm not running Vista, i don't want to, no right now. I'm fine with XP and if one day i really wanna do something that can only be done in Vista, maybe i'll switch. I'm using a "Suza Advance JUPITER 8005" case (maybe it'll ring a bell, i chose it because it was cheap and seemed nice ) with a 480W power supply (i've been told it could be insufficient, we'll see...).

nudone> oh well, if you already own a 24" monitor, you'll be able to answer this : is it ok to use it on a normal distance, or do you have it to place it far away from you so it won't hurt your eyes ? I don't have much space so the question is important And what do you say about TN film, do you think it's ok or is it reeaaaally important to get a PVA one ?

Just wanted to let you know that i'm currently posting from my new pc I'd like to thank you for taking some time to give me precious advices.

So finally i chose : Asus M2N SLI Deluxe + AMD Dual core X2 6000+ + 4gb RAM + Seagate Barracuda 160go + GeForce 7600 + Asus Silent Knight (damn this thing is huge).

I'm happy with it, i didn't really test it yet, but i can feel the difference from my laptop during casual use. FARR scans my music collection in a blink of an eye 

I didn't buy the screen yet because i'm still hesitating. I just saw that IIyama is about to sell a 24" screen (IIYama B2403WS) with 2000:1 contrast ratio for about 500€, which is not very expensive, especially compared to Samsung Syncmaster 971P. My hesitation comes from the fact that it uses a TN film and i'm not sure weither it makes a big difference or not (reviews says this screen offers excellent image and color display).

Thanks Tomo for pointing out the sunlight warning, my pc is gonna be near a window so it's a problem. Anyway, i changed my mind about this monitor thing. Nudone is right, i need to get a screen with a good contrast ratio. So, considering the little money i have, i decided to chose image quality over size, and i think i'll go for a Samsung 971P. It's a 19" and it's quite expensive considering its size, but, according to reviews i read, it displays excellent colors and has a 1500:1 contrast ratio.

It's definitely not the result of a zooming process. As it's been said above, it is a composition of several screenshots, one from a global view and others from in-game zoomed specific regions.

About SLI : well, hum, i didn't even know what it was before you told me about it My choice of components is based on what i've read on multiple websites. Soooo yeah, maybe i don't need a SLI motherboard. Which one then ? What about this one ? Seems to be the same as my original choice without the SLI feature. What do you think ? If you think it's not a good choice, can you please suggest something else ? (considering that price is REALLY important).

Also, due to the Photoshop and cheap memory, I definitely think you should stick with your 4GB Memory.

That's what i think too I've worked on 600dpi images with 2gb of RAM and i think 4gb could really be a plus (at this moment, i have to work on my laptop with 512mb, which means crappy screen AND low RAM, i can't describe how horrible it is )

Yeah, i've been told that the gap between CRT and LCD display is really getting smaller and smaller. An friend of mine who's an illustrator told me he had no problems working on a LCD monitor. I think i'll give Samsung 206BW a try (if i can find the right model)

fodder> well, if i take an Intel processor i have to change the motherboard aswell. And the price is higher, too and i can't really afford a more expensive configuration. I guess the AMD choice is a good compromise, isn't it ?

Hi, my pc stopped working lately (i think the motherboard is to blame) and as he's rather old and obsolete, i'm planning to get a new configuration (my main activity is to manipulate large image fileson Photoshop, and i'm hoping to do some gaming from time to time eheh). I'm really not an expert about hardware so if you can have a look at what i'm about to buy and tell me what you think, it will be very appreciated. The goal of this topic is to avoid buying material with unknown disfunctions like it can happen sometimes with computers

- Motherboard : ASUS M2N SLI DELUXE
- Processor : AMD DUAL CORE X2 6000+
- RAM : 2 x 2gb DDR2
- Graphic card : SAPPHIRE ATI Radeon X1950 Pro
