An 11" Ivy Bridge Ultrabook for me, which I would use mainly whilst traveling with my wife. In the past I've used 7" and 9" Asus Eee netbooks, but the keyboard is a pain to use. After upgrading my DLSR recently I discovered that the Eee is now just too slow for handling the now-larger images. This is important as I take over 10,000 photos each trip.

My concern now is being able to get one before our next trip, as they (Asus UX21A) are not currently available in Australia. I briefly flirted with the idea of getting the corresponding Macbook Air, but the thought of having to master a substantial learning curve at short notice made me abandon that idea.

I'd like a tool that can live in the system notification area which when clicked toggles suspending/resuming network activity.

As you know, the installers for many programs do all sorts of things behind the scenes, including phoning home and possibly more nefarious things. What I want is a quick way to suspend network activity prior to initiating an install, and then resuming activity on completion.

I'm aware that some firewalls have or had options to do this, but I mainly only use the Windows' firewall.

I'd need this for Win XP and Win 7 machines.

My trawl of the Internet didn't turn up anything, but perhaps some of you know of such a tool? Or can create one?

Great idea, and I'd love this utility to work for me, but its operation at present is inconsistent.

First, it seems to depend on which camera an image came from. Second, it won't find the GPS data in an original image, but it will find it in a resized version of the same image. Third, when it does find the GPS data and displays it in Google maps, the location is incorrect, getting the sign of the longitude wrong.

Here are some images taken in Carcassone France that illustrate this problem.

It does find the GPS data for this original image, but shows the location as West instead of East. Camera is Panasonic DMC-FX30.

I'm using GeoLocate version 1.0.0.16, downloaded today.
