Thank you! I'll check out the Sage.

Thanks so much, you guys!

I have tried Word Web. For me, the thesaurus isn't rich enough, and it doesn't integrate well with Word.

What I really don't like about Word's thesaurus is how slim it is. There are very few synonyms, and they often aren't the best choices.

I have a fantastic thesaurus (hardcover book)--Roget's International Thesaurus, 5th edition, 1992. If I look up a word, say, "peaceful", I then get 7 choices of words that are more specific that can mean peaceful (calm, comfortable, quiescent, homelike, in accord, pacific, moderate), and for each one of those words I can look up the synonyms--and there are at least 20 synonyms for each word, usually more. Those choices are rich, and help me find words that aren't too overused (like "beautiful" is), and that also help me say what I want to say more precisely or specifically or just...better.

I so very much wish I could find that in software. When I'm writing or editing within Word I don't always want to turn to my hardcover thesaurus--it feels so much easier to turn to software on my laptop/desktop. But...to not have good choices doesn't help me.

Hi all,
I haven't been able to find a thesaurus program that is really good--that has a LOT of options for words that really apply. Most of the ones I've found are based on a public domain thesaurus--one that hasn't been updated in 100 years. I need a more modern one, and one that isn't too too expensive, and that can integrate with Word 2007.... Any ideas?

Thanks for the mini-review; I love finding out about good file managers. That's fantastic about getting 10 copies. If you decide to give any out to other DC members (who haven't done coding snacks or written reviews) then I'd love to be entered.

thanks so much, Blaster. I'm glad there's a way to back it up. Knowing that, all i have to do is copy the db.mbd to put all the same notes in MyHelp onto my desktop.

I think it's perfect. :)

Blaster, I *love* MyHelp; I use it all the time now. It makes it so easy to store all the tips I have (and new ones I find) for my programs, especially ones I'm still new to and learning (like MS Word--I finally had to switch over for the publishing industry, and iTunes, and other programs.

I know you said you don't have much time, so this might not be possible, but...I have a future update suggestion:

I'm hoping that you can make a way so I can export all the tips/files I have in MyHelp, so that I can easily 1) back it up, and 2) copy the info over to my desktop.

thanks so much for a great product!

Thanks for letting me know about that. I'd rather keep my bookmarks on my own pc, and I searched through the firefox add-ons a few months ago, but i'll do so again.

Tags would be great. Would I then easily be able to sort them?

This might be way too big a coding job, I'm not sure--

I would *love* to have a bookmark manager that integrates into FireFox, that is easier to use. For instance, when I'm creating a bookmark, I have so many folders  that it makes it hard to find where to put a  new bookmark; I'd like to be able to search and locate an appropriate folder easily when I'm creating a bookmark. And have a good search method, period.

Coding Snacks / Re: Custom cellphone themes / monsterpacks / whatever.

this is neat! I'm getting my first  cell phone (should arrive in the mail in 3 days). It's a Motorola V3C. I would absolutely love to have a Superman theme. And a Wonder Woman theme! Those would be awesome. (My service provider will be Virgin Mobile; i'm assuming i can upload my own themes....) Totally okay if it's not something you want to do. And if you do, it'd be fun.

I *love* the sound of this program! It's so useful! Thank you for creating--and sharing--it. I've just downloaded it, and will give it a try. I have folders inside folders right now, and text files inside them, trying to organize different things I want to remember--tips for various programs, other things--so this feels immensely useful.
