You must however be both concentrated and vigilante during the installation, or you will get unwanted programs as well.
I guess that's why they say an Internet connection is required for installation.

I agree with what you are saying. What I am curious about is why one would look at a dynamic, fluctuating "exchange rate" and then say that the answer is to do some kind of conversion to a static, unchanging barcode.

As to whether there is any sort of pressure being presented by the established financial players, of course I couldn't possibly comment either.

Sometimes, all it takes is one person to believe in you to make all the difference in one’s life.

Here at LittleThings, we believe every life is equal and no animal is too small or worthless to give up on. That’s why we love sharing amazing “comeback” stories about people oranimals who have triumphed over unthinkable tragedies.

In the following video, we learn about a dog named Kenny who was seen as a lost cause after an accident severely damaged his spine and left him paralyzed. Experts believed the Doberman pinscher should be euthanized and put out of his misery, but the amazing people of rescue organization Two Hands Four Paws saw potential in Kenny and refused to let  that be the case.

Much like this paralyzed dog, multiple surgeries, 6 months of rehabilitation, and lots of love were required, but ultimately it completely changed Kenny’s life around! It was a long road for this sweet and courageous dog, but when you see him around 2:48, I guarantee you’ll be blown away.

His story really proves that anything is possible with a little faith and TLC. Way to go Two Hands Four Paws!

This means barcode software.
What?? What kind of lame-brained leap of logic is this?? That is such a nonsensical statement -- it's like The Big Lie, just say it in your discussion as if it were fact, and [some] readers will take it as such.

And just because the guy links to someone's "incoherent gibberish" (in his opinion), doesn't mean he isn't spouting his own brand of the same.

There could be two right answers depending on your assumptions - is operation precedence honored or do you want to go left to right? But in any case I am curious how you would get a 42 out of that... anyone?? Unless it's a HHGG reference of course. (No panic here.)

@Mouser - Mad respect for thinking of it man!
... and I wonder what response it would have brought on one of those "please photoshop the moon between my fingers" boards?   ;D

Very cool - needs an old cemetery off to the side now, maybe a raven up over the gables...

Yes... very happy! There are some whacked people out there who aren't afraid to use Photoshop. (Or Gimp.)

If you google the error message, you'll see a lot if hits (like this). Most of them blame an Asus motherboard and say you can go into the BIOS and disable the chassis intrusion setting, or check the relevant jumper on the motherboard and make sure it is jumped.

Curt, you don't include the Posix date in your taskbar clock? It's so useful! :P

Yes, works fine on Win 10.

MSE is the consumer version of Microsoft Forefront Security, which BTW, is a discontinued product. We're saddled with it at work & at least once every couple weeks the desktop IT team has to spring into action to go cleanse a virus off someone's workstation. I rarely have extremely strong opinions about something preferring to each person to have their own tastes, but MSE is garbage and I'll defend my position to the bitter end.
I'll toss my two cents in. Same situation here, in fact SCEP (same stuff but tied to SCCM) allowed a bunch of boxes to pick up Conficker just this week. (Not even anything interesting - Conficker for gosh sakes!!)

Most people have no reason to actively turn the sharing on. And so - almost no-one will.

This.

And... how many PCs on the Internet will just allow other PCs on the Internet to connect up and download patch parts? Wouldn't most Win 10 boxes be forewalled, at least on the box itself? I don't have a problem getting a piece of something - that is checksummed and verified - from some pc out there that happens to have a copy, but I need to look at the mechanics of how you determine where. Maybe this is why MS sets up your wifi to connect to everything it possibly can automatically, so you can join their content distribution network!

Bina 48 is one of the creepiest things I have seen... shades of What are Little Girls Made Of but nowhere near the Old Ones' standards...

Thanks xtabber! It's hard to resist adding another editor to one's collection... very hard...  :D

Living Room / Re: How do you resist buying ever more powerful PCs?
« on: September 07, 2015, 04:21 PM »
I can resist buying for me (especially since I used termination pay to pick up an HP 17" with an i7 and 16gb of memory a few years ago), however my daughter's laptop (admittedly a really-cheap Lenovo from a few years ago) now has a broken screen hinge, and my wife has decided that her current laptop (Toshiba 17" screen with an AMD A6) is too big and heavy. I'm looking at various options, hopefully the same unit will work for both of them. I wish someone local had the Lenovo Flex 2 15 that I could actually see, since it has a 1920x1080 display and all the others I'm looking at are 1366x768. I want roughly i5 performance, but my daughter might trade some performance for a touchscreen. Tough choices, but I am going to make them choose so I'm off the hook.  :P

One might argue that your first three word choices aren't random choices at all. ;)
I'm sure the data will likely support your hypothesis -- but has anyone pulled the data and analyzed it yet?

P.S. I'm still looking for a monospace Comic Sans-like in bitmap font format.  To code in.

http://www.comicbook...Constant-p/cl343.htm -- I'm sure it could be bitmap-ified!

I think you need to make the equal button the same size as the others, and since you'll have a blank space, let the user move the buttons around like the 15 puzzle...

General Software Discussion / Re: urgent free AVG expired request!
« on: September 05, 2015, 09:58 PM »
Oh, goodness, it's been a few years since I have had AVG installed on a computer, but I'm not sure if those popups are really from AVG. The window title is odd, the Activate Now link is word wrapped, that button at the bottom says "Extend Your"... I think it is popup crapware trying to trick you into clicking things.

FWIW I redid all my A/V after all the myriad of Windows 10 upgrades at my house. I ended up putting Avast back onto my PC, but everyone else gets Bitdefender Free. It has basically no controls, but they shouldn't be doing anything that would require controls. Ymmv.

297
Really? The site shows up in Arial on my PC with AdGuard running.

299
Hm... lotsa spam here this morning, is that an artifact of the upgrade or just a happy coincidence?  :P

I agree.  Details seem a bit sketchy.

It was only penciled in at the time.

Canvasing the comments has proven quite interesting.

I still wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. I'd wait until we get the complete picture.
