Living Room / Re: How to turn F lock on the keyboard ON by default?
« on: September 09, 2006, 03:43 AM »
I had a Logitech keyboard with the identical behaviour and it turned out that there is not (software) possibility to do this, because the F Lock is hardware only and cannot be controlled with software. This annoyed me so much that i buyed a new Microsoft keyboard (Ergonomic 4000) which keeps the last state. So when the F Lock is ON and i reboot the F Lock keeps the ON state. I know that the predecessor act different, so a new keyboard become due? Or you open the keyboard and try the hardware way.

Unfortunatly the query analyzer is part of the Enterprise Manager and not free. So i can't offer an URL.

What happened was, that the window scrolled as expected, but the result didn't fit. If you like, i can post the screenshot that sc created?

Another one: The Query Analyzer from Microsoft.

I wanted to capture an execution plan, but it failed.

General Review Discussion / Re: VPN/SSH Tunneling software

You have serveral more possibilities:
  • IPSec: Win2k and XP support this, as well as most Linux distribs and Mac Os. But it is complicated.
  • OpenVPN (www.openvpn.net): You have one vpn server and vpn clients. It is easier to configure and very flexible. It runs on Win2k and above + Linux + Mac Os.
  • hamachi (www.hamachi.cc): The company Applied Networking plays the role of the vpn server for you (not charge). You (the client) define what other clients share an isolated "network". This is the most easy method, but you must believe in Applied network.
