JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: WinManagement Snap!

Interesting. I just installed it but am having problems with various scripts. Will revert to the plain AHK for now and will check later.
(Of course, the compiled version of AHKSnap isn't affected at all -- just saying this for others reading following the thread !)
Thanks Lanux.

(EDIT : BTW Lanux, if you want to create a new thread -- or split this one -- for AHKSnap, you can... It's different enough to justify it. It's really up to you.  :) )

Cool ! I like it. Much, much better and sophisticated. It's a completely new script.

Of course, as I told you, that was my first baby step into the scripting/programming world... Didn't know anything at the time. I still feel like I know nothing, but that's another story.  ;D

The exe works perfectly.

The AHK file gives me an error : "IniRead" requires at least 4 parameters. I quickly added "size9" as the last argument. Not sure that this is the best way though -- just did what seemed obvious without too much thinking. (The reason I'm trying the AHK file is that I usually append all the little scripts together in a bigger script... less processes to manage).

Did you close the message box before looking at the log view ? The message won't be written to the log file until you close it. Also, the original version won't log anything while the message box is open -- this is by design : if you're lunching, you're not necessarily trying to see what your computer activities are (unless that's not what you want, of  course...).

I just redownloaded v1.17.28 and here's a screenshot after closing the message box and opening the "details" view :

Screenshot - 2012-03-19 , 21_31_06.png

("Out to lunch" being the message box)

[EDIT : of course, if you didn't like that behaviour, I understand why you'd turn the switch ON. However, my point is that it's not that the message box isn't log, but that it's not "logged" while it's opened to be able to calculate (e.g.) how long your lunch period was.]

Friends or acquaintances who durably* switched did it for 4 main reasons (one or all of them, in no specific order):

- extremely strong philosophical/ethical ideals (usually related to the open source philosophy),
- absolute need for work/studies (using very specific applications in very specific environment),
- need to be part of a certain subculture because other "friends" are part of it,
- ...  price and/or too much time on their hands.  :)

*durably = barely using windows for prolonged periods of time.

Just a note :  if you're looking at the "Summary view", those "message box" appear under the "autohotkey.exe" application name.

(I also realized that while the comments aren't appearing in the detailed view -- in the original version -- they actually do in the "Summary view", but without any useful time indications...)
