Cool, another OS/2 User. 

I started using Boxer back in my OS/2 & DOS days as well.  I've tried to like other editors, but I always end up with Boxer installed.   Just before I installed OS/2 I was using Boxer TKO for > 640 RAM and virtually unlimited file size editing.... ahh the good ol' days.


Now if only David would port this to Linux...

OrbitFiles http://www.orbitfiles.com is a nice easy way to store 1G for Free.  Larger plans are pretty inexpesive too.

I use it for providing Password Protected documentation for clients.  Just send a link and the password and users can download from the web w/ no special software required.

Xdrive sux eggs these days.

Except the Dell, etc. install CD's usually bundle tons of useless "trialware", spyware, or worse, and you have to spend literally hours cleaning up afterward just to get your new "high-performance" computer running nicely. *sigh*

I used to work at a regional bank.  In 2000 or so, our group got a call from the corp. office wanting some assistance reloading an OS/2 2.1 server.  Seems it had been sitting in a corner somewhere doing currency conversions for some department and everyone sort of forgot about it until the hard drive finally died.

OS/2 Warp (3.0) came out in early '95, Warp 4.0 came out in '98 or so.  We're guessing the system was running for 3+ years with no intervention at all.  Scary stuff.

Zane, are you watching the same media as the rest of us?  Conservative media is such an oxymoron, I think you must be joking.  And did you really say conservative courts?  You mean the ones who create laws from the bench?  And demand states create laws to accomodate homosexual marriage?

BTW Darwin's "Theory" does not have enough backing to merit the actual designation of Theory.  Darwin himself said his hypothesis would be defeated if there were not an abundance of transitional forms in the fossil record.  To date, there are no, none, zero substantiated transitional forms discovered.

Junk science and agressive atheism has perverted the scientific community resulting in a thing called "Natural Science" which is what the kiddies study in most schools today.   Natural Science by definition assumes that there is nothing super-natural.  According to its rules all observations must be made through the lens of atheism; which is the pre-assumed answer to the question "is there a god?" instead of investigating the possability.

Bottom line is that evolution* is a political position that can't stand up to actual analysis.  It's just being pumped out so often by the media machine, no one questons it any more.

Since this is DC and not a political or theological forum, I will give everyone the last word and drop the subject.


*macro evolution:  species to species transformation.  adaption is not evolution; they are distinctly different items.

hmm... seems a little buggy.  I couldn't combine things to make the bow AND arrow at the gap in the garden.

When I pressed the combine button in that area, it didn't act right on the screen.  bummer, nice sense of humor.

about the only real secure way to run wireless is using a Radius server or a 3rd party encryption scheme.

Atheist - Knows Everything about Everything.     They have to by definition because they claim there is no god.  In order to claim the non-existance of something, you have to have looked everywhere and seen everthing.

Agnostic - Doesn't care if there is a god.  They usually don't try to prove things one way or another because they just don't care.  Did god use eveolution?  Don't Care! says the agnostic.

OK, so it seem to have been my NAT router.  Weird, tho.  All other, than IRC, traffic was passing just fine.
What's weirder is that IRC was connected when it "just stopped working."

Release/Renew IP address on the Router and it's all good again.  Same Address, better service.

Googlewatch is seriously over-paranoid IMO. Pretty biased "reporting" from what I've seen. Google has its problems, but they're still an amazingly "decent" company considering their size, income, etc.

Reading "Wikipieda Watch" the same goes for that. They may both be raising valid points but my god they do it in a "tin foil hat" kind of way.

JJ - I think one answer to why is that some people cannot relate to the virtualness of the filesystem.
Most folks don't really know how to file things in the physical world, so the metaphor breaks down a lot for some.

The tree view helps a little, but there still isn't a good visual for storing data.  To me, that's more the issue than need for a 3D fs viewer.

I agree with you on the whole DB FS.  Let's write one this afternoon.

Rats, I totally missed the score part.

You're right about the orientation after you die.  There was one level where you needed to go up and right almost immediately on start.  Talk about a lot of deaths!

At one point I needed a break so I just left it dying for 20 or 30. 

The one improvment that is really needed is a delay or keypress before restart.

I played it thru all at once too, just becuase I wanted to see what was next.  The last 25 levels are a little bizare.
