General Software Discussion / Re: Any taskbar hiding applications?

Thanks for the kind words & actually providing a video!!!

I'm getting freed from work in some days yet chances are a new version comes out soon as I have a very straightforward modification to the code for publishing.

Thanks @ all for participating! It *is* rather valuable since in time you realize interaction is the most precious gift you can make to a person in life  :-*.

Cheers!

Thanks for everything you're doing! I know this is in beta and we're trying things out, I'm hoping the end product will have minimize to taskbar. Regardless, despite having to occasionally having to re-enable it, I love this little piece of software enough to consistently use it.

Ok, so tried out this version and it will randomly stop hiding the taskbar. See video here.
It works fantastic while it does work though. Better than anything else I've tried.

Do you want the program to disable the Windows key entirely for the login/session as well? (or is it via Hotkey?)

Thanks for being specific! (Currently doing the GUI)

Cheers!

No, I'd like to use the windows key to call the start menu.

Maybe I'm missing something, but all I see is the gitignore, license and readme files. Perhaps I missed something, and thank you!

Do you want to COMPLETELY HIDE Windows' taskbar for your whole login session?

(There's an oldie code for hiding it from some years ago... may still be relevant for your use-case. Please confirm what you need :))

Cheers!

That's exactly what I want, but will that disable the start menu as well (that I'd access using the windows key)?

Excuse my previous post. I want to add something I didn't notice. CloseFence stops working when the window is maximized. If no windows are maximized, CloseFence does what it's supposed to.

You could try Skrommel's PushToShow: https://www.dcmember...download/pushtoshow/

It should hide your Taskbar unless you press the Windows key.

There is also CloseFence: https://www.dcmember...download/closefence/

That one keeps an autohiding Taskbar from accidentally appearing if you hover a bit too close to it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I was able to accomplish what I needed with app103's suggestion. At first I tried PushToShow but it didn't work with the taskbar autohidden. Had to unhide it for PushToShow to work. While the program did hide the taskbar, the reserved space for the taskbar remained intact which defeated what I was doing (using rainmeter to make a thinner taskbar).

Then I tried CloseFence and it's the perfect solution. It stops the mouse from going to the edge and activating the taskbar. It works flawlessly.

Thank you all!

General Software Discussion / Any taskbar hiding applications?

I'm looking to see if anyone knows of any taskbar hiding application. I'm using rainmeter as a taskbar replacement, along with mouser's excellent desktop coral. My issue is that Windows 10's autohide activates as when I get too close to the taskbar area. I don't need the default taskbar to be disabled, simply for it to not respond to mouse activation.

I've used eusing's Taskbar Hide application but it's a complete hit and miss. It'll stop working half the time and the default windows taskbar starts activating again. If I have the application set to start at windows login, it 100% of the time stop working after I open any maximized application, and then I have to exit and relaunch Taskbar Hide. Not a great solution all in all.

Any applications here on donationcoder to pair along with desktop coral?

Thank you!
