Living Room / Is this funny
« on: August 24, 2008, 07:23 AM »
I was talking to someone on Windows Live Messenger and made the following joke. She didn't think it funny, so I said I'll post it on a tech forum and see what they say,
so whats the verdict:

After another dropped message I said:
I want Bill Gate's head, on a silver platter.....
.....with an Apple in his mouth.

Should she dump me for bad humour?

Living Room / MySpace spam
« on: February 25, 2008, 04:46 AM »
Hi,
I recently started getting into this time waster that is MySpace, and have noticed plenty of spammy comments in others profiles.
Can anyone tell me what good they do.
I mean, if you click on a link to a 'picture', what do they know, and what will they do.
Obviously when they ask for an email, they are address harvesting, but in other click throughs I can't see the point.

Hey, when they ask for an email to example.hotmail.com, would it do any good to sign that address up to a known spam list. Revenge is sweet.

Post New Requests Here / Idea: Automatic Photo resizer
« on: July 18, 2007, 06:41 AM »
Just like most people, I have a large supply of photos on my computer. These are in good quality (about 3mb). To send one in an email, I have to find it, copy it to a temporary location, resize it, and then send it.
Could someone please write a hotkey program which ideally links into Picasa2 and copies the selected image to a temporary position (say desktop) and resizes it to a standard size. And most importantly, doesn't hurt the original.

Maybe use a screen capture of the image with the desktop coordinates in the right spot, then automatically save it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Customise Save Dialog
« on: April 23, 2007, 06:29 AM »
Most of the web pages or documents that I save go to one of about 3 folders. Each time I save something, however, I have to find those folders again (I use FF2). I was wondering if someone knows of, or could write, a program which could modify the save dialog so that, next to "Desktop" and "My documents", I could also have 3 custom folders which I could then select with one click.

Thanks for your help, you're all legends.
