Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Calculate string-similarity
« on: October 24, 2018, 03:41 AM »
Not a new idea, certainly. And I doubt, whether this can be coded in a few hours. The input would be any two strings. The output a number, e.g. between 0 (zero) and 1 (one). Lots of possibilities for commercial use. My idea on how to do this is very old, more than 20 years, but my coding abilities are limited. And the power of computers was very limited too, when I was trying to code my method in VB 6.0. There are n! x m! calculations to be done. n = length of string 1, m = length of string 2.
I started this when I was studying phonetics and came across neurolinguistics. Expandable into many more areas than just alphabetical languages. But that would be a start. Anyone interested?

@mouser: ...and the autostart-problem has vanished as well. Although I can´t say why. Might probably have to do with the way I installed SC. I wasn´t aware of windows-login and admin-login, "run as admin" respectively  :)

I tried yesterday afternoon (22.20.2018 18:00 CET). It was as described then. ScreenshotCaptor catched only one quarter of the screen.
Now, early in the morning or at night (23.20.2018 02:44), it works perfectly again.
Very sorry, but I think I have to get used to my new equipiment before posting here. >:( >:(

ScreenShotter and 4K?
@mouser: I got a brandnew 4 K-monitor just today five hours ago, also new Nvidia GTX 1080ti. Now shots from ScreenShotCaptor cover only about 1/4 of the screen. Probably a minor adjustment for @mouser.  :) Running of course at 3840x2160.
