Living Room / Re: laptop temperature fluctuations

A laptop with a Dual Core processor in it is more than likely (much) older than 6 months.

Playing 2 videos at once is taxing, especially when these are compressed. And gets much more taxing when those videos are 1080p or higher. And usually the difference between 1080p and 720p on a laptop screen is barely noticeable.  Especially for a set of slightly less young eyes.

If possible, try to get both videos on your system and use software to separate what you want from both videos and combine these parts into a new video. That is less taxing for your laptop in the long run.

Did you also consider cleaning your laptop internally? Cruft and dust accumulates very quick in laptops in my experience. Especially when they are mostly used in carpeted areas or way worse, in bed. Such cruft prevents heat to escape out of your laptop and shortens it life span.
They're all 480p or less, but I get your meaning. I'll avoid doing two at a time.

How do you clean internally?

Living Room / laptop temperature fluctuations

My dual-core HP laptop with Win 10 and 8 gb ram is about half a year old. Usually it runs lukewarm but sometimes it gets quite warm for no discernible reason; could that maybe be Norton running in the background?
Could I safely run VLC with two separate long-play videos at the same time for extended time periods without overheating it?

MPC-BE
I see; and for bookmarks, just use the Favorites in the menu bar.  :Thmbsup:
I saw an Option called Shaders, and DuckDuckGo'd it, but didn't quite pick up on what that meant.
In case anyone may wonder why one would want to change playback speed, it goes real nicely to slow down playback on something like;
Relaxing Sand Castle And ocean waves, with wave sounds
Salient features of this particular video are; minimal people or manmade artifacts or sounds, no intrusive music or talking, long -31minute- playback, all-inclusive episodic theme beginning with a fully constructed castle ending with total castle wipe-out, and preservation of natural sea sounds, for maximum subliminal relaxation.  Good sandcastle construction, too.
BTW, I did not make the castle or video and I don't know who did.

Re: 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (0.9hz) ~ Pure
Using Brave browser and 4K Video Downloader set to 480 quality...
If I play direct from Youtube online, I get a nice throbbing effect, as; wooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo
But if I download it and play it back in VLC, it loses the throb, as; woooooooooooooooooooooo.
What gives?

Downloaded and played back fine using SlimJet and MPC-BE.
Yes, MPC-BE plays individual brainwave vids with throb. Tnx 4wd.  :Thmbsup:
edit; I don't see a way to loop playback or change playback speed, in MPC-BE.

BTW, MPC-BE uses almost the same identical Desktop shortcut icon as AVIdemux.
edit; PS - 300th post.  :)

Youtube home page for FulLengthBinaurals
I discovered the throb effect works good if I download and play back simultaneously on VLC these two 'binaurals';
At 0.9hz; 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (0.9hz) ~ Pure
At 3hz; 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (3hz) ~ Pure
With VLC, the two playbacks can be simultaneous and continuously looped.
