Excerpt with David Warner and Malcolm McDowell dialogue in Time after Time (1979) 3m 57s
The film presents a story in which British author H. G. Wells uses his time machine to pursue Jack the Ripper -played to perfection by David Warner- into the 20th century.
"
Spoiler
In this 'cut' (no pun intended), Jack the Ripper tells off utopian idealistic H. G. Wells, who says to Jack, 'We don't belong here (in the violence-surfeited future)", "On the contrary, Herbert...The world has caught up with me, and surpassed me.''

I've used freeware Yandex -which appears to be HQ'd in Russia- for several years now, and so far I've been quite happy with it.
https://mail.yandex.com/
I don't speak Russian, but their English version and UI is quite good.

I use Yandex in tandem with www.SneakEmail.com as a paid glorified spam filter. Nobody even 'sees' Yandex, because SneakEmail acts as my 'front end'. Each entity I contact gets their own unique virtual email address, permanent for them only.

A bit of folklore for you; I get very little junk, spam, or malware email, but a couple of years back I once received a flawlessly executed faux PayPal email asking for routine data verification. Trouble was, it did not come from the SneakEmail PayPal address and email header I had originally created for the real PayPal, but one of my other, obviously compromised email contacts. I wrote the real PayPal and forwarded the spoof PayPal email in it's entirety. A little while later, back came the response from the real PayPal, I had successfully reported a masterfully -IMHO- executed faux pfishing-PayPal operation to the real PayPal.

It may not be news to some, but I seem to have discovered that if I surf YouTube without logging in (which is 'always'), and if YT tells me to 'log in to confirm your age', I can copy the web address, then start 4K Video Downloader, and click on Paste Link, 4K Vid downloads the video without any trouble. Not always, but I just did it with another one successfully. Then without even visiting the download folder, I can right-click on the vid, then click on 'play' in 4K Vid, play it, then either save it, or right-click on it and choose 'remove'' or 'delete'. All with a blocked vid that YT symbolically infantalized me by demanding that I 'log in first to confirm my age'.

BTW, 4K Vid has been offering me a 'free license' lately, although I'm already getting what I need with the unregistered version.

'Next' Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Mark Isham - Playlist
Purely as 'mood music' for easy listening, the following sequential selection is suggested; 01, 03, 05, 06, 08, 12, 14.
edit: Hmm, as a movie soundtrack, I suppose this is more like a 'music audio' than a 'music video'.

What about a few shots of Duster in intake or exhaust; 'canned air'?

Edit: I will try the vacuum cleaner to air intake port, as per IainB's ^'overheating or noisy fan' post.
Note Shades's comments in related thread re static and being careful not to force fan blades to turn the wrong way.
I have used vacuum cleaner inside a desktop computer: I worked barefoot and half covered the nozzle with my fingers to minimise chances of static building up.
I take your meaning to be that spinning the fan blades the wrong way can ruin the fan.  :Thmbsup:

I downloaded & installed HP Support Assistant.
I have a Model HP EliteBook Folio 9480m; Product number L2G98UC#ABA; maybe 1 1/2 years old.
HP 9470m Disassembly and fan cleaning video.
Disassembling an Elitebook HP 9470m (full disassembly not necessary but gives better lighting & visual clarity).

edit: re: Review HP EliteBook Folio 9470m Ultrabook
It says in summation near the bottom; "The fan can be cleaned easily."

Re: 'repeat forever'; Okay, now that I know how to 'find' this option, how do I 'select' it? When I click on that 'option', the 'Apply' word does not highlight itself to confirm the choice.

Third image is where you can set a key shortcut for it, it's unassigned by default.

How do I add MPC-BE to my 'Open with' drop-down menu; all I show is VLC as an option.

Same way you add any program you want to the Open With... menu:
  • Right click the relevant file
  • Choose Open With...
  • If you don't see MPC-BE, click More apps
  • If you don't see MPC-BE, scroll down to Look for another app on this PC
  • Locate MPC-BE

Tnx! :)

edit: When I minimize SpeedFan, it totally vanishes and I cannot find its active icon on Desktop or anywhere although I know it is still there and did not actually close. I really need to figure out how to get the active instance of it back on-screen on Desktop, instead of starting a 2nd copy.

The laptop has a 5-year warranty through Amazon.com; I suppose that opening the back ccver plate might void the warranty. If so, might my only option be to just keep using it until it quits? Then the only bummer is rebuilding all my peripheral software in a new machine.

I vacuumed air intake; no change or improvement in SpeedFan over-temp readout.

@holt:
Did you also consider cleaning your laptop internally? Cruft and dust accumulates very quick in laptops in my experience. Especially when they are mostly used in carpeted areas or way worse, in bed. Such cruft prevents heat to escape out of your laptop and shortens it life span.
@Shades gives good advice.

Thought these notes might be of some use: Laptop overheating or noisy fan - Cleaning the cooling system.
My entire laptop feels unusually warm; I installed SpeedFan; it shows a red/yellow flame icon and 127C for 'Temp 2' (not sure what that is).
I shut down for half an hour and rebooted; feels much cooler; Temp 2 -ACPI ISA bus?- fluctuates between 127C and 35C; just instantly over and over. Chart readout shows spiking and square-waving between the two extremes; but laptop feels 'normal' (barely above room temp).

Edit: I skimmed IainB's most xlnt post Laptop overheating or noisy fan - Cleaning the cooling system.
I can't do all that, but I have in times past dust-cleaned the turbo fan on a video card before, a simple R&R job of pulling the cover plate. My HP laptop is only 10 or 12 months old. If it survives long enough for me to review how to pull backing plate & battery, maybe I can fix my laptop.

To play with MPC-BE I have to drag & drop in Desktop.

Yes, MPC-BE plays individual brainwave vids with throb. Tnx 4wd.  :Thmbsup:
edit; I don't see a way to loop playback or change playback speed, in MPC-BE.

With the B-52, Boeing created an aircraft with an admirable service life and the world's most oddball -but xlnt- landing gear. Now, with the 737, instead of dropping ordnance, they have goofed by making the entire aircraft into a projectile.

A laptop with a Dual Core processor in it is more than likely (much) older than 6 months.

Playing 2 videos at once is taxing, especially when these are compressed. And gets much more taxing when those videos are 1080p or higher. And usually the difference between 1080p and 720p on a laptop screen is barely noticeable.  Especially for a set of slightly less young eyes.

If possible, try to get both videos on your system and use software to separate what you want from both videos and combine these parts into a new video. That is less taxing for your laptop in the long run.

Did you also consider cleaning your laptop internally? Cruft and dust accumulates very quick in laptops in my experience. Especially when they are mostly used in carpeted areas or way worse, in bed. Such cruft prevents heat to escape out of your laptop and shortens it life span.
They're all 480p or less, but I get your meaning. I'll avoid doing two at a time.

How do you clean internally?

My dual-core HP laptop with Win 10 and 8 gb ram is about half a year old. Usually it runs lukewarm but sometimes it gets quite warm for no discernible reason; could that maybe be Norton running in the background?
Could I safely run VLC with two separate long-play videos at the same time for extended time periods without overheating it?

MPC-BE
I see; and for bookmarks, just use the Favorites in the menu bar.  :Thmbsup:
I saw an Option called Shaders, and DuckDuckGo'd it, but didn't quite pick up on what that meant.
In case anyone may wonder why one would want to change playback speed, it goes real nicely to slow down playback on something like;
Relaxing Sand Castle And ocean waves, with wave sounds
Salient features of this particular video are; minimal people or manmade artifacts or sounds, no intrusive music or talking, long -31minute- playback, all-inclusive episodic theme beginning with a fully constructed castle ending with total castle wipe-out, and preservation of natural sea sounds, for maximum subliminal relaxation.  Good sandcastle construction, too.
BTW, I did not make the castle or video and I don't know who did.

Re: 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (0.9hz) ~ Pure
Using Brave browser and 4K Video Downloader set to 480 quality...
If I play direct from Youtube online, I get a nice throbbing effect, as; wooOOOoooOOOoooOOOooo
But if I download it and play it back in VLC, it loses the throb, as; woooooooooooooooooooooo.
What gives?

Downloaded and played back fine using SlimJet and MPC-BE.
Yes, MPC-BE plays individual brainwave vids with throb. Tnx 4wd.  :Thmbsup:

BTW, MPC-BE uses almost the same identical Desktop shortcut icon as AVIdemux.

Youtube home page for FulLengthBinaurals
I discovered the throb effect works good if I download and play back simultaneously on VLC these two 'binaurals';
At 0.9hz; 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (0.9hz) ~ Pure
At 3hz; 1hr Delta Binaural Beat Session (3hz) ~ Pure
With VLC, the two playbacks can be simultaneous and continuously looped.
