General Software Discussion / Re: Drop Box lands
« on: March 13, 2008, 10:04 PM »
That site has already "run out of invites". It seems that there's no way to invite more than 4 people to one shared folder according to the site. I'm willing to see if that statement is wrong.

EDIT: That statement is wrong. You can only invite 4 at a time. But the total number of possible invites to a shared folder is unlimited (at the moment).

what's the pricing on this one? If it's good it's usually not free especially not when data's involved.

Its free for now since its in beta. But when the beta is over, there will be free and premium services available.

Since I was invited into the beta, I can invite anyone that wants to join. Simply PM me asking to join in it (along with your e-mail address) and I'll send you an invite.

You can get an invite by posting a comment at http://dailyapps.net...rive-killer-dropbox/ stating that you would like to have one.

I had another idea regarding it. Maybe it could open the control that the mouse is under in an IE window (thereby allowing the user to change pages without losing the video).

181
I like it. The only thing that needs changing is that when you resize the detached video window, the video, etc. that's being displayed should be resized to fit the window.

Well, more options should be available in a later version of it.

I like it since its basically 7-Zip but with a better UI. You can find more info about it at http://www.jzip.com.

Earlier this month, v1.0 of it has been released.

186
I've just tried it, but then I immediately deleted it because its UI is horrible.

Hmm, At least its smaller than Teracopy and is opensource :) (meaning, someone could improve its write speed if he/she wants to)

General Software Discussion / NTFSearch
« on: January 22, 2008, 04:25 PM »
Description of it from its webpage:

Normal program searchs directory for directory, that needs a lot of time. Some programs create an index, but then they work in the background and need system resources.
NTFSearch searchs in partition datas to get the file information within several seconds. A typical search request then takes about 15-35 seconds!!!. On fast hard discs a query can also go down to 5 seconds!!
NTFSearch is designed extra lean to provide a fast and easy usage.

XNeat Windows Manager (http://www.xneat.com/windows_manager/) should be able to do what you're asking for.

Heh, That fraud warning happens on any page that's being viewed using Google's Cache. I hope that they fix that problem soon.

196
A utility that's similar to e.Purge, but also with the option of deleting everything in the folder.

197
That's closer to what I'm after, but, it still uses a window and has no GUI.

198
That's not what I was asking for. That program just deletes folders that are already empty.

199
...or directories that are older than a certain amount of time without displaying any windows. The only freeware program I know that does some of what I'm requesting is e.Purge (unfortunately, it seems that the developer of it gave up on developing it further).

200
I've just tried it. It doesn't do what I want it to do (which is hiding icons already in the system tray).
