Thanks Lanux,
I have Filenote, it's very useful indeed for making file-specific notes but not much use for general note taking.
If I get chance, I'll make some 'mock up' screenshots later so as to better illustrate what I'm looking for.
Cheers,
HH

Probably a really daft question but here goes..

Has anybody ever come across any clipboard extender/note taking software that works from Windows Explorer context menu?

I had in mind something very simple just for plain text, something that functions almost exactly like notes in Opera but available via Explorer right click.

Any clues?

Cheers in advance,

HH

I spotted this thread the other day and decided to give QTT a whirl - I'm impressed, very impressed. The image preview/thumbnail on hover/mouse-over feature is a bloody marvel!

I could almost be persuaded to go back to WE/QTT as my main file browser but there's just one thing missing - the easy saving and application of user-defined 'column sets' in details view.

Yep, I know that Windows let you save your selected columns but, so far as I'm aware, you have to do that either on a folder by folder basis or apply one set to all folders.

I've searched for a third party app. that'll let you save and apply column sets to WE but no luck so far, if anyone knows of anything I'd appreciate you giving me the heads up.

Excellent!

Many thanks to all concerned.

I think this is the first time that I've ever won anything anywhere.  8)

Thanks chaps,

Hirudin,
Yep, I recently looked at DOpus and a ton of other Explorer replacements but pretty much gave it up as a bad job. DOpus (and a few of the others) are great apart from the fact that they don't work with two of my 'pet' tools, Hace MMM and ShellToysXP. I work a lot from mouse right click, I know there are often other (sometimes better) ways of doing things but it's just what I've got used to.
AB Commander and ExplorerXP came closest but neither are ideal.

Grorgy,
I'd spotted that one, it looks good and you certainly can't knock the price - I'd give it a go apart from the fact that ShellToysXP has a very similar feature.
